We will immediately move on to how things stand with such PBCs on the Russian market. The largest selection of products is in the “standard” format, and it is represented mainly by domestic, Chinese and Turkish products; the choice is already several dozen times, mainly China, Turkey and quite a bit of Europe.

Even in neighboring European countries, laundry labeling may differ.

For example, in some single sets are marked as “single”, one-and-a-half sets as “extra long single”, double sets as “full”, and the largest size bed linen is “king size”.

Standard Russian pillowcases for sleeping pillows are produced mainly in three sizes (indicated in centimeters): 70x70, 60x60 and 50x70.

Euro-maxi, what is it?

An enlarged version of “standard”, sometimes “2” is used instead of “maxi”. In this case it says "bedding sizes Euro and Euro 2". It is not produced in our country, and is quite rare on shelves. Usually this is Türkiye, China and a little Europe. Perhaps this is due to the low demand for such a product: we only managed to “eat up” a bed 160 cm wide. And already 180 cm beds are rare even in furniture stores, 200 - even more so. But nevertheless, such PBCs exist.

And the sizes of Euro double bed linen are designed for a blanket 220x240 cm (the duvet cover has the same parameters), which is not so easy to find. It is not even available in all online stores of famous brands. Let’s take the fairly well-known Ascona as an example: the maximum size of blankets indicated on the company’s website is 200x220 cm. It’s much easier to choose something under the “Euro standard”; for it there are usually at least two options, 195x215 and 200x220 cm.

Important: if you cannot choose bed linen in the “2 euro sleeping size” size so that it fits the mattress and blanket at the same time, you can try using the European version. We are looking for a set without a sheet, which one we choose based on the duvet cover. And we already buy a sheet, regular or with an elastic band, separately. In most specialized stores this will not be a problem.

If we talk about underwear from a Russian manufacturer, it is very difficult to notice some inconsistencies. Although sometimes they differ by 10-15 cm from GOST standards.
