Wet daily cleaning of a house or apartment: procedure and tips for implementation

Wet cleaning is a set of measures aimed at humidifying the air, removing dust and surface contaminants. Depending on the conditions, it is performed weekly or daily. Timely removal of dirt ensures cleanliness in the room, improves the appearance of interior items, flooring and other horizontal surfaces. Wet cleaning is manual work, which is performed with special tools - washcloths, cloth napkins, mops, washing vacuum cleaners.

Preparation and equipment

Wet cleaning of the house is a component of comprehensive cleaning of premises, which involves wiping vertical and horizontal surfaces with wet wipes, a mop and other tools. Putting things in order in rooms, bathrooms, kitchens and other rooms is preceded by preparation.

In order not to be distracted by searching for equipment while wiping, it is prepared in advance.

Preparation plan for wet wiping in a house or apartment:

  • List of processed surfaces. On a piece of paper, write down all the rooms in which cleaning is planned. Opposite each of them, surfaces and interior items that require wiping are added.
  • List of necessary household chemicals. Depending on the scope of work, all the products that will be needed to clean the floor, furniture, walls, and windows are listed.
  • Sequence of work performed. Wet cleaning is carried out in strict sequence to prevent contamination of already treated surfaces.

To remove surface dirt and dust you will need:

  • washing vacuum cleaner;
  • buckets;
  • broom;
  • scoop;
  • steam cleaner;
  • carpet beater;
  • floor cleaning cloth;
  • cloth napkins;
  • brushes with stiff bristles;
  • a bowl of clean water;
  • hard coated sandwich sponge;
  • mop.

Cleaning can be done with home or professional cleaning products.
They contain acids or alkalis. Therefore, wiping is carried out with rubber gloves; if necessary, use a respirator or gauze mask. To remove dust and dirt, use:

  • concentrates for cleaning floor coverings;
  • glass cleaners;
  • solutions and gels for removing dust from furniture;
  • sprays for cleaning vertical surfaces.

The effectiveness of the work depends on carefully planned actions. During dust cleaning, the following are cleaned:

  • chandeliers and sconces;
  • bookcases;
  • picture frames;
  • interior items;
  • top of cabinets;
  • hanging shelves;
  • headboards;
  • desktop equipment;
  • floors;
  • carpets;
  • armrests;
  • stair steps;
  • window sills;
  • door jambs;
  • window glass;
  • niches in the walls;
  • vertical surfaces.

Cleaning is carried out not only in the rooms, but also in the bathroom and kitchen. With well-planned actions, the work takes from 1 to 3 hours.

Room disinfection order: from clean to dirty

Cleaning should begin from the most distant room, gradually moving towards the exit from the apartment. Usually, at the first stage, the bedroom and nursery are treated, then they move on to the living room and kitchen, and end with the bathroom and hallway.

All surfaces in the premises are first disinfected, and only then the floors are washed. First of all, you need to remove the curtains, curtains and bedspreads and wash them thoroughly. It is advisable to knock out carpets outside, clean them manually at home with a special shampoo or just soap suds, and finally vacuum them.

We must not forget about children's toys. Soft ones accumulate a lot of dust, so they need to be washed periodically. The rest just need to be wiped with a disinfectant solution. Don't feel sorry for old unnecessary soft toys. It is better to get rid of them completely so that they do not become breeding grounds for dust mites and do not transmit viruses and bacteria to children.

Sequence of room cleaning

Wet cleaning of the apartment must be carried out in a certain sequence. If it is violated, the surfaces cleared of dirt will become dusty again. In this regard, wiping begins from the farthest room and ends in the corridor at the front door. If there is a balcony, they always start with it.

In what order should you clean:

  • balconies;
  • farthest room;
  • other rooms;
  • pantry;
  • kitchen;
  • corridor;
  • bathroom

Surfaces are cleaned of dirt so that the work ends at the door. For this reason, it is recommended to leave household chemicals and equipment near the doorway.

To avoid having to wash yourself in the heat of cleaning, leave buckets and bowls of water in the hallway. Otherwise, you risk upending the containers and getting your feet wet.

After wet wiping the living rooms, they switch to technical rooms - pantry, kitchen, bathroom, corridor. At the very end, only one question remains unresolved - how to pour dirty water into a clean toilet without staining it. Unfortunately, miracles do not exist, and the toilet will no longer be the same as before. Therefore, many flush water from the tank, and after that they apply Toilet Duck, Sillit, Domestos, Santrigel, etc. under the rim of the toilet.

How to do wet cleaning: procedure

Wet wiping is the key to cleanliness of interior items, upholstered furniture, flooring and other surfaces. Due to the labor-intensive process, many are afraid to start cleaning. But if you plan your actions in advance, you will reduce the period of torment by at least 1.5-2 hours.

Removing dust

Wet cleaning of an apartment begins with removing dust from the premises. To prevent contamination of already cleaned surfaces, always move from top to bottom.

Sequence of work:

  • Stage 1. First, clean the chandeliers, sconces, cornices, tops of furniture cabinets, and wall shelves.
  • Stage 2. On the middle tier, shelving, tables, window sills, door frames, and interior items are cleaned.
  • Stage 3. At the very end, remove dirt from the floor covering. To avoid raising dust, use a vacuum cleaner.

The quality of wet cleaning largely depends on the literacy in the use of detergents and cleaning products.

To wet wipe furniture, it is recommended to use professional household chemicals:

  • Sprays. To remove surface contaminants, use alcohol-containing aerosols - Sir Everyday Cleaner, Frosch Soda, Sonett Concentrate. They contain antiseptic additives, so they prevent the appearance of bacterial flora.
  • Antistatic agents. To prevent dust from settling on your computer, TV and other equipment, they are wiped with antistatic solutions - Big D, Denkmit, Handboss Universal. Thanks to them, electrical appliances remain clean for 7-10 days.
  • Furniture polishes. Lacquered and laminated coatings are gentle on products with degreasing, polishing and antistatic properties. Therefore, to wet wipe tables, whatnots and shelves, you should use Brait Classic Beeswax, Pronto Anti-Dust, Office Clean GT Tenzi.

When using special chemicals, dust will not settle on horizontal surfaces and equipment for at least 3-5 days.

Cleaning upholstered furniture and carpets

Not everyone knows what wet cleaning is, so they limit themselves to wiping horizontal surfaces and floor coverings. But if you leave upholstered furniture and carpets unattended, they will turn into a source of dust. To avoid this, you should vacuum with a washing vacuum cleaner:

  • sofas;
  • armchairs;
  • banquettes;
  • carpets.

Special products are used to clean carpets and upholstery:

  • Vanish Gold;
  • Nordland;
  • Bugs Shtihonit;
  • Green & Clean Professional;
  • Astonish Fabric Refresher;
  • Emsal Tuba;
  • HG For Leather;
  • Beckmann.

If you have four-legged friends in the house, get a steam cleaner. It copes well with foreign odors and surface contaminants.

If you don’t have special equipment, simply collect the fur with a damp cloth or your palm dipped in water.

It is recommended to use special impregnations for upholstered furniture - ScotchGard Protector, TexGuard, IntStyle. They form a protective film that prevents the formation of stains and the absorption of foreign odors.

Washing mirrors and glass

Cleaning windows and mirrors is an important component of wet cleaning. To remove dust and dirt use:

  • suede rags;
  • rolled soft paper;
  • special wet wipes.

To ensure that there are no streaks left on surfaces, special chemicals are used:

  • Clin;
  • Winni's Multiuso Trigger;
  • De La Mark;
  • Purely;
  • Sodasan;
  • Sano Green;
  • Frosch Glass Cleaner;
  • Mister Muscle.

It is not advisable to use alcohol-containing products to wet wipe mirrors, as they leave streaks.

Washing door handles and frames

Door handles are places that are literally teeming with pathogenic bacteria. Therefore, universal antiseptic agents are used to clean them:

  • Desecon;
  • Sanimax;
  • Pimol;
  • Sterisil;
  • Neosteril;
  • Sanifekt;
  • Neosoft;
  • Soliox.

It is enough to wipe the trim with a damp cloth. But if you want your house to smell nice, use detergents with fragrances - Mr. Proper, Frosch, Bref, Amway, Sano Forte Plus.

Mopping floors

For wet wiping of floor coverings, washing vacuum cleaners or mops are used. To clean them of contaminants, fungus and bacteria, use universal products:

  • Ecover;
  • etamine;
  • Orange House;
  • Freken Bock;
  • Dolphin Basic;
  • Bio Formula;
  • Pronto;
  • Friendly Organic;
  • Karcher;
  • Sarna;
  • Muscle;
  • Naturally it's clean;
  • Attitude.

Dealing with greasy stains on the kitchen floor is much more difficult. To clean tiles, use fat-dissolving agents:

  • Proper Cleanliness and hygiene Eucalyptus;
  • Bio Formula Anti-fat Grapefruit;
  • Cillit Bang Anti-fat + shine;
  • Cif Green freshness;
  • Freken Bock Lime.

After treatment with detergents, the floor is wiped again with a clean mop. If this is not done, the coating will be sticky, which will lead to rapid contamination.

Helpful information

Tips to help make wet cleaning easier:

  1. It is better to use microfiber or cotton rags for surface treatment. They do not leave behind streaks and absorb the maximum amount of dust. At the same time, it is necessary to monitor their cleanliness. After each treatment, the rags are dried so that an unpleasant odor does not begin to emanate from them.
  2. Do not wait until the dust layer becomes thick. It needs to be removed as it appears. This will save time when carrying out wet cleaning.
  3. When washing the floor, it is recommended to add a few drops of essential oil to the bucket, which will make the air more fragrant.
  4. When treating furniture, you can use an antistatic agent, which will prevent dust from settling on surfaces.
  5. It is recommended to wash carpets in the warm season so that they have time to dry completely. Wet carpet will become a source of growth for mold and germs.
  6. Modern equipment will help make cleaning easier. Even a new mop with an automatic spin and a telescopic handle will save time on cleaning.
  7. It is recommended to wash the hallway last.

There are major differences between daily cleaning and deep cleaning. In the first case, only dust and dirt that catch the eye are removed. General cleaning is performed no more than 1-3 times a year. It involves cleaning all surfaces, objects and coatings that are in the house.
