Potato starch. They just need to sprinkle a fresh stain, wait until the grease is absorbed, and then carefully brush off the starch with a clothes brush. You can increase the effectiveness: after covering the stain with powder, place a clean sheet of paper or cotton cloth on top and run the hot iron several times. Of course, make sure in advance that the material of the down jacket will withstand heat treatment without loss. It is better to repeat the procedure several times, replacing the fat-soaked starch with clean starch. By the way, in both recipes you can use crushed chalk or talc.
Mustard powder. It contains special substances that quickly break down fats. Therefore, to get an effective cleaning agent, just add to Art. a spoonful of dry mustard, enough water to form a thick paste, apply to the stain and leave for 35-40 minutes. After this, the remaining mustard should be thoroughly washed off with warm water and laundry soap and the down jacket should be dried. The only caveat: this recipe is only suitable for colored and dark things.
Vinegar. Works well on old greasy marks. To do this, just moisten a cotton pad with table vinegar and walk over the stain several times, making sure that the dirt is completely removed. After this, you need to wash the item, if this is permissible, or simply remove the remaining vinegar with a sponge soaked in clean water. Before use, especially for cleaning dark down jackets, it is better to test this product on an inconspicuous area, making sure that the material does not lose color.
Shaving foam. The method may seem somewhat unexpected, but it is really effective. Although it is only suitable for those down jackets that can be washed. To remove grease, apply foam to the stain and wait 5 minutes, and then wash the entire item.
Lemon juice. It is enough to squeeze the juice from 1 lemon, generously moisten the contaminated area of the white down jacket with it, and after 30-40 minutes wash it first with warm soapy water and then with clean water. If the item is colored, you can use freshly squeezed onion juice instead of lemon juice. In addition, a recipe based on lemon juice mixed with potato starch is also effective. Medical alcohol. They need to generously moisten a cotton swab or a piece of cloth, thoroughly treat the greasy mark, then walk over the contaminated area again with slightly warmed ammonia and leave for half an hour. After this, all that remains is to rinse the material with clean warm water and dry the down jacket properly.

If you managed to get rid of the stain completely, but after drying, white marks and stains still appeared in its place, from which water and a sponge could not save you, a soda solution will come to the rescue. Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to a glass of water, treat the affected area with a cotton swab dipped in this mixture, and then carefully rinse with warm water and dry the down jacket thoroughly.
