Soup with dumplings and potatoes
A simple and inexpensive way to prepare lunch is soup with dumplings and vegetables. To prepare it you will need:
- Dumplings - 100 g;
- Potatoes - 3–4 pcs.;
- Carrots - 1 piece;
- Onion - 1, small.
Peel the carrots and onions. Cut the onion into cubes and the carrot into strips. Fill a one and a half liter pan with water exactly halfway, bring to a boil and salt the water to taste, boil the dumplings in it until half cooked. Place them in a separate bowl. While the dumplings are cooking, grease the frying pan with vegetable oil and fry the onion over low heat, add carrots to it. You need to sauté the vegetables over low heat, stirring frequently. Place the prepared vegetables into the pan with the dumpling broth.
Wash and peel the potatoes, cut into large strips and add to the soup. Cook the broth over medium heat until the potatoes are done, this will take about 15 minutes. Place half-cooked dumplings in a saucepan, add your favorite spices and herbs, and simmer for another three minutes.

- Sprinkle cheese on top, close the lid and place in a cold oven.
- After preheating the oven to 180–200 degrees, reduce the heat.
- It takes about an hour to prepare.
- To prevent liquid from running off, do not fill the pots to the brim.
Frozen dumpling casserole
If you are looking for how to cook dumplings in the oven, then stop at an original and satisfying dish - casserole. Children especially like this snack - because in this form, a dish of dumplings is somewhat reminiscent of a large and tasty pizza.
- Turn on the oven and preheat it to 180 degrees.
- Fry two medium onions until golden brown.
- Grease a large frying pan or baking dish with vegetable oil or margarine.
- Place 650–800 grams of fresh or frozen dumplings in one layer, sprinkle with spices.
- Beat 4 eggs, add 200 g of sour cream or mayonnaise to the egg mass (you can take both in equal proportions), add salt. Gently add a tablespoon of flour and stir.
- Place the fried onions on top of the dumplings and pour the resulting sauce over the contents of the mold so that the mixture completely covers them.
- After half an hour, sprinkle the dish, which is half cooked, with grated cheese (100 g).
Here's how to make unusual dumplings with minimal spending! If you have champignons, you can also fry them along with onions and add them to the casserole. You can also use a bouillon cube for mushroom flavor.
Using the same recipe, dumpling casserole is prepared in a slow cooker, but, given the size of the bowl, the dumplings are laid out in 3-4 layers.
Hearty dinner in tomato sauce

- Fry the onion in vegetable oil.
- Add carrots, bell peppers, and garlic to the pan. If there are mushrooms, then you can add a few champignons or oyster mushrooms, and if not, add diced eggplant and soaked in salted water. If this is not the case, continue cooking further.
- Add tomato paste or fresh tomatoes chopped in a meat grinder (blender) to the fried vegetables. Add black pepper and other spices.
- Add dumplings, stir and add water so that the semi-finished product is completely covered with sauce.
- Keep the fire low, cover with a lid and finish the hearty dinner until ready.
If you don’t like tomatoes, then similarly prepare juicy dumplings in sour cream sauce. In this case, you can add a little grated cheese. Greenery will be appropriate in any setting.
Dumpling soup with imagination
If the refrigerator does not sparkle with abundance, try saving a little on food and making dumpling soup. You can use vegetable or meat broth as a basis, for example, one that you have frozen in advance. Dumpling, spinach and tomato soup

Let the dumplings (250 g) cook, as in the previous recipe. When they are almost done, a few minutes before the water boils, remove them and set aside.
Place tomatoes (450 g) in a frying pan, salt and season with spices to taste. Use a spatula to lightly crush the tomatoes so that they release their juice and simmer. Place them in the dumpling broth.
Peel half a medium onion and two cloves of garlic, chop them and fry for 5 minutes in a hot frying pan greased with oil. Add a little oregano at the end of frying, after a minute you can add it to the broth.
Put the broth on the fire. When it boils, add dumplings and chopped spinach. If necessary, salt and add your favorite spices and herbs.
Before serving, sprinkle with grated Parmesan and fresh herbs. Incredibly delicious soup!

Dumplings with cheese

Cook the dumplings until half cooked, as described in the previous two recipes. In this case, we won't need the broth, so you can use it for other dishes. Place the dumplings on a separate plate and let cool, draining off any excess broth. Heat a frying pan and melt a couple of tablespoons of butter in it. Place the dumplings in a frying pan and fry for 2-3 minutes on both sides.
Remove the finished dumplings from the pan and sprinkle with cheese, add some herbs.
This method of preparing fried dumplings in a frying pan has a significant advantage. After cooking, the inside of the elmeni is juicy, appetizing and does not need sauce.
Dumplings with vegetables
Don’t know what to make from dumplings that is so interesting and unusual? Soup is not as unusual as, for example, making dumplings with vegetables. For this recipe we will need various ingredients:
- Dumplings - 500 g.
- Broccoli - 400 g.
- Eggplant - 1 pc.
- Pepper - 2 pcs.
- Tomatoes - 2 pcs.
- Onion - 1 pc.
- A couple of spoons of sour cream, vegetable oil and spices.
Rinse all vegetables thoroughly. Peel the eggplant before cooking and soak to remove any bitterness. Cut the tomatoes into small strips. Peel the peppers from seeds and cut them the same way. Chop the eggplant. Place them in a deep frying pan and cook for 6-8 minutes. Then add 1/3 cup of water and continue to simmer for 10 minutes. Add vegetables, spices and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Separate the cabbage and boil separately in slightly salted water. In a separate frying pan, greased with oil, fry the dumplings on both sides until golden brown. Place the dumplings in portions, along with cabbage and stewed vegetables, season with sour cream.
Pizza
Product set:
- 400 g dumplings;
- 1 tbsp. l. sour cream and ketchup (can be replaced with diluted tomato paste);
- half an onion head;
- 1 large tomato;
- 100 g of hard cheese with a fat content of at least 45% (otherwise it will not melt well);
- herbs, salt and pepper to taste.
Preparation:
- Roll out the defrosted dumplings or flatten them into a circle with your hands. Do this on baking paper sprinkled with flour. Dust your hands or rolling pin with flour as well.
- Grease the resulting cake with sour cream and mayonnaise.
- Add chopped onion and tomato rings. If desired, add salt and pepper at this stage.
- Sprinkle the workpiece with grated cheese.
- Cook the dumpling pizza in the oven for 30 minutes. The temperature should be set to 180 °C.
You can also add olives, mushrooms, sweet corn, sausage, and ham to this dish.
Dumplings with milk
An appetizing and very simple option for baking in a pot - dumplings in milk. They take a long time to bake, but the tender result is worth the wait. To prepare you will need:
- Dumplings - 1 kg.
- Milk - 1 l.
- Cheese - 200 g.
- Mayonnaise, herbs, salt to taste.
Place the dumplings in pots, add milk and salt. Wash the greens, dill and parsley, fresh onion, dry and finely chop. Place on top of the milk and sprinkle with finely grated cheese. You can add mayonnaise on top, it depends on your preference.
Place the filled pots in a cold oven. Turn it on 200 degrees. Cooking dumplings this way will take 25–30 minutes. After half an hour, remove the lids, turn off the oven and let stand for another 10 minutes.
Dumplings in pots in the oven with cheese and mushrooms
An interesting option for preparing dumplings, aromatic and juicy. What an incredible combination of mushrooms and cheese, what a delicate taste the dumplings have from the magnificent sauce! To prepare dumplings in a pot we will need:
- 500 g dumplings;
- 300 g mushrooms;
- 400 g sour cream;
- 200 g cheese;
- 2 onions.
Cook the dumplings until half cooked. Place in a colander and let the liquid drain. Peel the onion and cut into small cubes. Boil the mushrooms and place in a colander to drain the water. Don't throw away the mushroom broth, we'll need it later.
Heat a frying pan and melt two tablespoons of butter in it. Fry the onion in it until softened, add the mushrooms and fry until golden brown. Season them well with aromatic spices.
Mix mushroom broth (about a glass) with sour cream. Grate the cheese, mix 2/3 of it with the sauce. Place the dumplings in pots, add a piece of butter and mix well. Place mushrooms on top, pour sour cream sauce. Cover with lids and place in the oven for 10–15 minutes (preheated well). A few minutes before cooking, open the lids slightly. The sauce should bake on top. Sprinkle the dish with the remaining cheese.
When the cheese has melted, remove the pots and serve.
