We will knead the dough in a regular plastic bottle (1 liter or 1.5 liters) of water, so we wash and dry it in advance. We also need a funnel.

Using a funnel, pour wheat flour, granulated sugar, and salt into the bottle. Not great advice. In order for the flour to simply enter the bottle, you need to make a funnel out of paper. This makes the process much easier. Well, we add liquid products through a plastic funnel. Pour warm milk into the bottle, 40 degrees. Break the chicken eggs into the funnel with a knife. Pour in odorless vegetable oil.

Cover the bottle with a lid and screw it on.

The Internet is literally torn to pieces by the sensational method of cooking pancakes in a plastic bottle. But is the recipe really that good? Personally, I was confused by this technology, I didn’t believe in it, but I decided to try it in my kitchen. I share with readers my result of the experiment.

The first video I watched was posted on the “Generous Summer” YouTube channel. I was immediately confused by the head-on advertisement for “Generous Summer” oil, but continued to watch. A man dressed as a cook poured 2 cups of flour into a liter bottle, added 2 eggs, salt and sugar, and the bottle was almost filled to the top. After which he poured milk into the remaining void - about 50 ml, no more. The recipe calls for 600 ml. Shake the bottle a couple of times and voila - the perfect pancake batter is ready.

Naturally, this is a miracle of editing. The dough was beaten with a mixer or blender in advance and poured into a bottle. There is no doubt - it is very convenient to pour from it. But we are interested in the moment of kneading. I cooked pancakes more than once and immediately realized what pitfalls there could be.

First, let’s take 2 times less products than stated:

  • Milk – 300 ml
  • Flour - 1-1.5 cups.
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp.
  • Egg - 1 pc.
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp.
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.

Secondly, take a bottle of at least 1.5 liters, and preferably 2 liters. You will also need a funnel.

The mistake that would-be cooks make is to add flour first, then eggs, etc. I first poured milk and butter, added eggs and salt and sugar. Screw the bottle tightly and stir until smooth. Three minutes was enough for the sugar and salt to dissolve and everything to turn into a homogeneous mixture.

Next, I start adding flour, but not all at once, like YouTube chefs. I add 2-3 tbsp. flour, twist and intensively rub the bottle, like an experienced bartender. When there is only a small amount of mixture, lumps will be visible. As soon as they disappear, I add a couple more tablespoons of flour. I continue to knead the dough until it reaches the consistency I need. Anyone who has cooked pancakes knows what it should be like. Let beginners rely on the proportions above.

All that remains is to fry the pancakes in a frying pan, greasing it with oil before the first pancake.

What can be concluded? The method works if you follow my advice. Pouring pancakes from a bottle is much more convenient than pouring a ladle. But the kneading itself requires effort and time. It is much easier to knead the dough with a whisk or mixer and pour it into a bottle.
