Poppy seed pies made from yeast dough are a very tasty and high-calorie dessert, for the preparation of which you do not need many expensive ingredients. It should be noted that there are a great many ways to create such homemade baked goods. We will present you the most popular and simple ones.

There are probably no people who don’t love buns and pies. Of course, such products quickly spoil our figure. But sometimes you really want to treat yourself to a piece of homemade delicacy. In this regard, we suggest making pies with poppy seeds from yeast dough. To implement this recipe we will need (for the test):

  • light wheat flour – about 800 g;
  • drinking water (warm, boiled) – 1.4 cups;
  • melted butter – 180 g;
  • granulated yeast – 5 g;
  • whole cow's milk – 1.4 cups;
  • light sugar, not very coarse - 3 large spoons;
  • fine table salt - a small pinch;
  • egg (preferably large) – 1 pc.

Lenten baking in a slow cooker

If you want to cook Lenten baked goods in a slow cooker, then use only products that are acceptable in this case: flour, sugar, unrefined butter, yeast. You can put nuts and dried fruits in the filling.

Components:

  • Flour – 4 cups;
  • Sugar – 100 g;
  • Corn oil – 3 tbsp. l.;
  • Dry yeast – 1 tsp;
  • Sparkling water – 160 ml;
  • Poppy – 150 g;
  • Water – 160 ml.

Production: one and a half hours.

Calorie content: 163.5 Kcal/100 g.

We dilute dry yeast in purified warm water and leave for ten minutes. Pour crushed flour, sugar and sparkling water into the dough. We wash the poppy seeds with cold water and lay them out on a napkin to dry, then add them to the total flour mixture. Knead the soft airy dough with your hands, pour in the oil at the end, leaving a little to coat the bowl of the device.

Turn on the electrical appliance for the baking function. Place the soft lean poppy seed dough into the unit and leave to bake for an hour. Upon completion of the process, do not rush to immediately remove the baked goods; let the Lenten poppy seed pie cool slightly. If you start to take it out, it may fall and lose its shape. Turn it over onto a wire rack, cover with a napkin and be patient.

Knead the butter base

Before baking poppy seed pies from yeast dough, the base should be properly kneaded. To do this, mix equal amounts of cow's milk and warm drinking water in one container. Sugar is first dissolved in the resulting liquid, and then granulated yeast is added. After they swell, put soft cooking fat, beaten egg and table salt into the same pan. Mix all ingredients by hand until a homogeneous liquid mass is obtained. Then wheat flour is gradually added to it.

After the described steps, you get a soft and thick dough that does not stick to your palms. Cover it with a waffle towel and leave it warm for 96 minutes (maybe a little longer). During this time, the base should rise 4 or 5 times. Periodically, you should beat it with your hands so that it settles and rises again.

Butter pie with poppy seed filling

The butter dough stands out for its airiness, tenderness and aroma. When the baked goods are still in the electric oven, the smell already wafts throughout the apartment. Preparing poppy seed pies is certainly a hassle, but it's worth it.

Components:

  • Flour – 2 cups;
  • Sugar – 200 g;
  • Egg – 3 pcs.;
  • Poppy – 130 g;
  • Milk – 400 ml;
  • Yeast – 30 g;
  • Honey – 2 tbsp. l.

Production: two hours.

Calorie content: 294 Kcal/100 g.

Let's start preparing the poppy seed pie in a rich version. Heat half the milk, crumble live yeast into it by hand, mix and leave to stand for ten minutes. We twist the poppy seeds in an electric meat grinder, add honey and the rest of the milk to it and put it on low heat to simmer for five to seven minutes.

When bubbles appear on the surface of the dough, beat in two eggs, add sugar and mix everything thoroughly. Add flour in batches and mix into a soft, elastic dough. If it becomes difficult to do this in a bowl, place it on a dry, clean table and perform the procedure. The main thing is that the mass does not stick to your palms.

Cover the dough with a plastic bowl and leave to rise for one hour. During the process, you need to stir several times to release the carbon dioxide.

We dump all the dough onto the table, coated with oil, roll out a large layer, generously coat the top with filling and carefully wrap the roll, starting from the edge. We start the electric oven at 190 °C.

We cover a baking sheet with parchment, place the workpiece on it, take a special knife with sharp teeth and cut pieces two centimeters wide, not reaching the end.

We fasten the two ends into one circle and begin to turn the pieces inside out, laying them out beautifully in the shape of a chamomile. Coat the poppy seed product with beaten egg and let it cook for forty minutes.

How to shape a pie?

There is nothing easier than making poppy seed pies from yeast dough. There are a great many ways to decorate such a dessert. We decided to present you the most original method. To do this, the yeast dough is rolled out into a thin rectangular layer, lightly flavored with vegetable oil, and then the entire thick poppy seed filling is distributed over it.

After this, the base is rolled up and cut into several pieces (7-9 pieces) 6-7 centimeters thick. The resulting products are placed tightly in a deep, greased form. In this form, the formed cake is left at room temperature for ¼ hour.

Collapsible swirl cake with poppy seeds

Among all the variety, yeast pies with poppy seeds occupy a special place. Those who make rich dough love them, first of all, for the easy-to-prepare filling. As a result, with a minimum of effort - an amazing result. And this collapsible pie is also good because you can break off a piece from it without spoiling the overall appearance. There are so many advantages that you just need to prepare it.

For yeast dough on dough you need to take the following products:

  • 200 ml milk;
  • 100 grams of butter;
  • 2-2.5 teaspoons of dry yeast;
  • 180 grams of granulated sugar;
  • 2 eggs;
  • vanillin;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • 5-5.5 glasses of flour.

To prepare the poppy seed filling, you will also need:

  • 2 cups poppy seeds;
  • 400 ml milk;
  • a glass of sugar;
  • 30 grams of butter.

If desired, you can partially use other fillings: cinnamon and sugar, cottage cheese, jam, and so on. In this case, the quantity of products should be proportionally reduced. You will get a pie for every taste.

Curd pie with poppy seeds: step-by-step recipe

As mentioned above, there are many different ways to create a delicious yeast dessert. We wrote about how to cook pies in the oven in the previous recipe. If you decide to make such baked goods in a slow cooker, then we suggest using this method. To implement it we need (for the test):

  • light wheat flour – about 600 g;
  • drinking water (boiled, warm) – 1 glass;
  • instant yeast in bags – 4 g;
  • whole cow's milk - 1.6 glasses;
  • table salt – a small pinch;
  • light sugar – 2.5 large spoons;
  • soft margarine – 180 g.

Cooking procedure

  1. Steam corn flour, poppy seeds and granulated sugar with boiling water. Leave for 30-40 minutes. This is necessary so that the corn pies with poppy seeds turn out juicy and crumbly.
  2. Mix wheat flour with baking powder and sift into the steamed mixture. Without this, the cake will not rise at all. Add vegetable oil and stir.
  3. Line the pan with foil and place the apple slices at a distance from each other. If their skin is too hard, then it is better to remove it.
  4. Place the finished dough on top and smooth it out. Place in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes at 200 degrees (until the “dry match” test).
  5. Turn the finished pie onto a wire rack and cool completely. This is done so that it does not get damp. Remove the foil.
  6. Like other poppy seed cakes, it can be topped with icing. You can just melt the chocolate. But it can be prepared from halva with the addition of water and cocoa.

Another advantage of this recipe is that it is suitable for cooking in a slow cooker. Just don't cover the bowl with foil. Instead, lightly coat with vegetable oil. You need to cook corn pie with poppy seeds in a multicooker in the “Baking” mode. It will be ready 65 minutes after switching on. The rest of the steps will be the same.

Making yeast dough

Poppy poppy pie is prepared in a slow cooker just as easily and simply as in the oven. But before you start baking it, you need to knead the butter base. To do this, whole milk is mixed with warm water, and then granulated sugar is dissolved in this mixture. After this, combine quick yeast and 1 cup of wheat flour in a separate bowl. The resulting mixture is poured into the liquid mass and mixed thoroughly. In this form, cover it with a towel and leave it aside for 30 minutes. After the specified time has passed, a beaten egg, table salt and soft margarine are added to the dough. Finally, all the remaining wheat flour is added to the base.

After mixing all the ingredients, you should get a soft dough that sticks a little to your fingers. Cover it again with a cloth and leave it warm for 40 minutes.

Butter pie with poppy seeds

There are two types of people in the culinary world. One type is those who like to spend most of their time in the kitchen. Knead the dough and prepare various delicacies from it. And the second type are those who also visit the kitchen, but for a different reason - to eat these creations on both cheeks!

What type are you? I am sure that this article will be of interest to both some and others.

First, let's prepare a rich yeast dough. You can also prepare it using the sponge method, but I don’t have time for that, so for me, as always, it’s simple and quick.

If you are using wet yeast, it should be diluted in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. I've been using dry ones lately. They can also be dissolved in warm milk, but this is not necessary.


I broke the eggs into a bowl and beat them with sugar using a whisk. Then I poured out the measured milk and 1/3 of the flour with dry yeast.

Mixed thoroughly with a whisk. Then I added soft margarine and salt.

Added the remaining flour and kneaded into a soft dough. But be careful with flour! The kneaded dough should be elastic, soft, but not rough and hard.

After kneading, the dough should be placed in a warm place to rise for 1 hour. To do this, take a bowl or pan and grease it. oil, place the dough in it and cover the container with a towel or lid.

After a while, the dough rose well. It can be kneaded to release the accumulated carbon dioxide. And let it rise again. But I didn’t do this, and immediately after the first rise I kneaded the dough.

Knead the rich yeast dough slightly and roll it out into a large layer. It is desirable that the dough be rolled out longer.

A more delicious filling could have been prepared for our pie. To do this, poppy seeds are steamed with milk or water. But since I prefer quick recipes, I do the following.

I grease the rolled out layer of dough with melted plum. butter, sprinkle with poppy seeds, sugar and also add sesame seeds. To prevent my filling from falling out during further preparation, I ran a rolling pin over the filling.

Then I roll the dough into a roll and pinch the edges. Transfer the resulting dough ring onto parchment. I didn’t do it right away, but I managed to do nothing.

Using a knife or a spatula like mine, we make cuts, as in the photo.

After making the cuts, we form the pie. We unfold two pieces of dough, we also unfold the third, but we lift it to the top. And so on in a circle. It turns out to be such a flower of dough.

Grease a 24 cm mold with butter and place our butter dough into it. In order for the dough to bake well in the oven and turn out fluffy, it needs to be proofed for 20 minutes. Just cover the mold with a light towel and let it rest in a warm place.

While the dough is resting, turn on the oven at 200 ºС. After proofing, brush the dough with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sugar if desired.

Bake the poppy seed pie for 30-40 minutes. Readiness depends on your oven.

So everyone’s runny nose went away and everyone smelled the aroma of poppy seed pie. After baking, immediately remove the poppy seed pie from the oven, let it stand in the pan for 5 minutes, then remove it from the ring and let it cool completely on a wire rack.

This recipe for butter dough can also be adapted for a slow cooker. Although we have already baked buns with poppy seeds in a slow cooker, this pie with poppy seeds will also turn out great. In order to bake a poppy seed pie in a slow cooker, select the “baking” mode and bake the pie in the selected mode for 1 hour. Then turn the cake over using the steam tray and add an additional 20 minutes of baking time.

The process of forming a pie and baking it in the oven

To form the pie, the yeast dough is divided into 2 equal parts. They are rolled out into not very thick layers. One of them is placed in a greased multicooker container, making small sides. Subsequently, the curd filling is spread on it and again covered with a base sheet. In this case, the edges are beautifully braided into a small braid.

After the yeast cake is formed, it is covered with a lid and left in the heating mode for 10 minutes. Then they turn on the baking program and prepare the dessert for an hour. During this time, the poppy seed cake should become fluffy, rosy and surprisingly soft.

How to knead butter dough?

  1. First you need to prepare the dough. To do this, dilute yeast in warm milk (30-35 degrees), add a tablespoon of sugar and 3-4 tablespoons of wheat flour. Mix everything. Cover with a napkin and leave for 30 minutes in a warm place. During this time the dough will rise.
  2. Meanwhile, beat the eggs with the remaining sugar and melt the butter over low heat (can be replaced with margarine).
  3. Add them to the risen dough and, gradually adding flour, knead the dough. It should hold its shape well, but at the same time stick a little to your hands. It is very important not to fill it with flour.
  4. Cover with a clean towel (you can even wrap it up to prevent a draft) and place in a warm place. Stop by and check the dough no earlier than an hour and a half later. It should increase at least 2 times. Now you can bake a poppy seed pie from it.
