The classic version is a salad of smoked chicken legs, cheese and tomatoes with barbecue sauce as a dressing. To prepare it you will need the following:
- 6 cups fresh herbs;
- 240 grams of meat from smoked chicken legs, without bones and skin;
- 3-4 l. Art. barbecue sauce;
- a glass of canned red beans, washed and dried;
- a glass of canned corn;
- a glass of cherry tomatoes cut into halves;
- 1 avocado, diced;
- a quarter cup of diced red onion (or green);
- a quarter cup of fresh cilantro, chopped (optional);
- half a cup feta cheese, crumbled.
Cooking salad with barbecue sauce
This delicious smoked ham salad is easy to prepare. In a small bowl, combine chicken meat and 3-4 liters. Art. BBQ sauce (enough to cover the chicken). Leave for 15-20 minutes. In a large bowl, combine greens, chicken with sauce, red beans, corn, tomatoes, avocado, red onion and cilantro. Mix everything thoroughly with a fork. Sprinkle with finely crumbled feta cheese.
Option with celery and mayonnaise dressing
This chicken leg salad can be used as a take-out meal. Just put the main ingredients for it in a glass jar with a lid, and before using, add mayonnaise and stir. For additional ingredients, you can add avocado or squeeze in a little lime juice. This is an ideal dish for lunch or a light dinner, especially when you don't have any free time.
In total you will need the following:
- 2 smoked chicken legs;
- 1/3 red onion;
- a glass of stalk celery, chopped;
- a glass of mayonnaise;
- table salt, at your discretion;
- black pepper, at your discretion.
How to make this delicious snack
This recipe is really simple. It differs from many other cooking instructions in that it uses only smoked chicken meat, and only from the legs (not the breast!). Trim all the meat from these parts of the chicken. Do this carefully to completely select each bone. Once the meat is separated, cut it into small cubes up to 7mm in size. The skin should not be removed. On the contrary, it will only make the salad tastier.
Process celery and onion in a food processor to desired consistency. Add chicken, mayonnaise, salt and pepper and stir several times. The salad should sit in the refrigerator for several hours before serving. It's great on its own, on sandwiches (toasted bread, lettuce, tomato) or just with crackers.
Everyday salad with tomatoes, garlic and cheese
In the summer season, this option will be your salvation. It will give you the juiciness of vegetables and a good positive mood. There is nothing easier, take the usual ingredients, chop them with a knife and voila, you're done.
We will need:
- Tomatoes - 4 pcs.
- Cucumbers - 2 pcs.
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Onion - 1 pc.
- Cheese – 1000 gr
- Bell pepper - 2 pcs.
- Chicken – 200 gr
- Parsley - a few sprigs
- Mayonnaise, sour cream or vegetable oil with lemon - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Cooking method:
1. First of all, wash all the vegetables and herbs well. Now cut the cucumbers and tomatoes in any way convenient for you, for example like this, as shown in this picture:
2. It’s best to grate the cheese, although if you cut it into cubes or small strips, it won’t be bad either. Cut the bell pepper into strips; don’t forget to remove the seeds. Chop the onion into half rings.
3. Add boiled chicken meat, cut into cubes. Sprinkle with herbs, season with mayonnaise, and salt to taste. Have a pleasant and juicy aroma!
Important! You can season with vegetable oil with a drop of lemon juice for acidity. And to add originality, you can use homemade or store-bought crackers.
Useful tips
This salad recipe uses only smoked chicken to produce a distinctive, slightly smoky flavor that is much livelier and more interesting than simply boiled or baked poultry. You can adjust the amount of seasonings and ingredients according to your taste preferences.
It is best to cut the ingredients by hand to be sure to taste them. However, for lovers of soft snacks, chopping the food in a food processor is best. If desired, you can add raw or grilled bell pepper to the dish.
