How to Make Fried Garlic Shrimp

When choosing between fresh frozen, boiled-frozen and chilled seafood, choose the first option.

They are easy to defrost and there is less risk of having already been defrosted and re-frozen.

The exquisite delicacy is defrosted slowly, at low temperature in the refrigerator.

Boiling and frying frozen food is a popular, but not very good idea.

This will have little effect on the taste, but the meat will lose its pleasant, tender and at the same time elastic structure. In a word, it will spread and become watery. Speeding up defrosting with cold or warm water will achieve the same effect.

Before frying, shrimp are traditionally boiled (if they are fresh) or marinated. Regular ones are boiled for 2-5 minutes, large ones - 6-8 minutes, marinated - at least a quarter of an hour.

Actually, boiling shrimp is no more difficult than boiling squid, and the time is approximately the same:

  1. boil water by adding salt to it;
  2. put the spices and herbs that you like (the classic version is young dill stalks with or without herbs);
  3. throw in seafood;
  4. cook for 2 minutes after boiling.

You can immediately enjoy the tender meat or cut it into a salad. Better yet, quickly fry the shrimp in butter over high heat until they look appetizing, seasoned with garlic.

As an alternative to cooking, this type of seafood is quite suitable for heat treatment with steam (7-10 minutes).

They do not need to be pre-heat-treated before frying. In this case, it is better to marinate raw ones and then fry them (regular ones - 3-4 minutes, large ones - 5-8 minutes).

Garlic shrimp sautéed in olive oil or butter are incredibly flavorful and appealing, especially when cooked in their shell. You can add any spices and herbs you like, including those with pronounced and even strong aromas. The shell will protect tender meat from “overdose”. Served in shell, they always look especially impressive.

With soy sauce

King prawns fried with garlic on a grill pan are an appetizer that will not leave any gourmet indifferent! A fragrant marinade and a special roasting technology will ultimately give not just a good, but a truly magical result!

The dish cannot be classified as ordinary, although the preparation process is quite simple.

Ingredients:

Recipe information

  • Cuisine:European
  • Type of dish: appetizer
  • Cooking method: in a frying pan
  • Servings:1
  • 20 minutes
  • large shrimp with head - 5 pcs.
  • soy sauce - 50 ml
  • olive oil – 25 ml
  • garlic - 2-3 cloves
  • liquid honey - 1 tsp.
  • lemon - to taste
  • ginger root (chopped) - 0.5 tsp.
  • dill, parsley - a small bunch
  • chili pepper - optional.

How to cook

The first step is to defrost the main product. To do this, place the shrimp on a plate in advance and leave at room temperature for 20 minutes. To avoid wasting time on this, simply transfer the shrimp from the freezer to the refrigerator the day before cooking. I have pink shrimp, they are already boiled, so you don’t need to cook them for a long time. To add a piquant taste and aroma, you must marinate the seafood.

To do this, simply place the future delicacy on a plate and pour a mixture of soy sauce, honey and olive oil on top. If the shell is thick, you can use a pinch of sea salt for the marinade so that the tender meat does not turn out bland. Then sprinkle everything with finely chopped garlic, ginger and herbs. Finally, squeeze in lemon juice (1-2 tsp) and turn the shrimp several times so that the marinade soaks them well.

Marinate for 10-15 minutes. Spicy lovers can add finely chopped chili pepper.

Heat the grill pan high and place the shrimp on it. Fry each for literally 2-3 minutes on both sides, brushing the marinade on top.

. Immediately transfer the finished shrimp fried with garlic and soy sauce to a serving plate. The finished dish can be supplemented with fresh herbs and a slice of lemon.
