I really love making pies, so every housewife should have a recipe for how to make yeast-free dough for a sweet pie. There are many options for making pie dough, and here is one of them.
Yeast-free dough for kefir pies
Kitchen utensils: two medium-sized bowls, a tablespoon, spatula, sieve, cling film or plastic bag.
Ingredients
Kefir of any fat content | 500 ml |
Premium flour | 500 g |
Soda | 1 tsp. (without slide) |
Salt | 1 tsp. (without slide) |
Sugar | 1 tbsp. l. |
Vegetable oil (odorless) | 5 tbsp. l. |
Step-by-step preparation
- Sift 500 grams of flour into a medium-sized bowl and add a level teaspoon of soda to it. Mix well so that the baking soda is evenly distributed.
- Pour 500 ml of warm kefir into a second medium-sized bowl, add 5 tablespoons of odorless sunflower oil, a level teaspoon of salt and a tablespoon of granulated sugar. Mix all ingredients until salt and sugar are completely dissolved. Add flour little by little, evenly, to the liquid ingredients and mix.
- Once all the flour has been added and kneaded, place the dough on a floured table and knead with your hands. Properly kneaded kefir dough should be elastic and easily come off your hands.
- After kneading the dough, you can immediately form the pies and fry them in a frying pan, but it is better to keep it for 15-25 minutes at room temperature so that the kefir fermentation process starts and it rises slightly, so the baked goods will become more airy and soft.

Add half the flour along with soda to the resulting mass, knead the dough. Add 2 tbsp to the preparation. spoons of vegetable oil and the rest of the flour. Place the dough in a bowl, cover with a cloth and set aside. After 40 minutes it will be ready for further cooking.
Children really like this activity. Remember, as soon as your grandmother or mother takes up the dough, helpers immediately appear. The process of making pies is an unforgettable childhood memory. And it’s okay that the whole kitchen is covered in dough and flour, and the pies turned out clumsy. But it’s fun for the whole day!
Making pies is quite simple: you pinch off small pieces of dough from the workpiece and form a flat cake. Everyone chooses the size themselves, but you should not make the pies too large: they will burn on the outside and will not have time to fully cook inside. Next, fill the pie with filling and, lifting the edges of the cake, carefully pinch it together. Fry the pies in hot oil until crispy on both sides.
And be sure to put the kettle on. While you finish frying the last pan of pies, the tea will brew. It's time to gather guests and treat them to your delicacies.
