  1. Wash the chicken and rub it with salt, lime juice and pepper flakes over the surface of the skin and under it, leave for 30 minutes.

  • 2 large potatoes, boiled in their skins;
  • half a small zucchini;
  • 5 medium carrots;
  • 2.5 tbsp. l. olive oil;
  • 1 tbsp. l. dry parsley;
  • table salt and coarsely ground pepper.

For filling:

  • 450 g ham;
  • 1 small onion;
  • 1 medium-sized leek;
  • 4 tbsp. l. medium-ground breadcrumbs;
  • 2 tsp. natural butter;
  • 1 tbsp. l. chopped sage;
  • 1 tsp. chopped dry thyme;
  • table salt and coarsely ground pepper.

Step-by-step cooking process

  1. It is necessary to peel and cut both types of onions.

  2. Next, you need to combine the ham, sage, thyme, salt, coarsely ground pepper and softened butter in a large bowl and mix well.
  3. Once the mixture is homogeneous, you need to add breadcrumbs, stir and form a large ball out of it, place it in the internal cavity of the chicken.
  4. Rub 1 tbsp into the bird's breast. l. olive oil until all visible chicken skin is coated in a thin layer, then rub the entire top of the chicken with salt, parsley and coarsely ground pepper.
  5. The prepared chicken must be placed breast side down in the air fryer bowl.
  6. Now you need to similarly process the lower part of the carcass, rubbing into it the same amount of olive oil, coarsely ground pepper, parsley and salt.
  7. The carrots should be peeled and cut into large pieces, the zucchini into small cubes.
  8. Place the vegetables in a clean bowl, season with salt and coarse pepper and drizzle with olive oil, toss with your hands until everything is well coated, then add to the chicken.
  9. Cook the bird breast side down for 25 minutes. at 180°C.
  10. While the chicken is cooking, you need to peel and cut the potatoes, put them in the same bowl in which the vegetables were mixed, salt and pepper them and mix.

  11. After 25 minutes, using kitchen tongs, you need to remove the carrots and zucchini from the air fryer and place them in a clean bowl.

To prepare an interesting and at the same time satisfying dinner, you can cook the whole chicken in the air fryer, seasoning it with garlic and herbs and adding sauce with fresh mushrooms.

What ingredients will you need?

  • 1.5 tbsp. chopped fresh mushrooms;
  • 0.5 tbsp. finely chopped onion;
  • 1 whole (from 1.5 to 2.5 kg) chicken carcass;
  • 0.5 tsp. table salt;
  • 1 tbsp. l. melted butter;
  • 1 tbsp. l. chopped green parsley;
  • 2 tsp. chopped fresh rosemary;
  • 1 clove garlic, minced;
  • 0.5-0.75 tbsp. chicken broth (can be replaced with water);
  • 0.25 tbsp. filtered water;
  • 2 tbsp. l. all-purpose flour.

Step-by-step cooking process

  1. The air fryer needs to be heated to 160°C.
  2. The chicken must be washed inside and out with cool water, wiped dry with paper napkins, and rub the inside cavity with salt.

  3. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, parsley, rosemary and garlic, mix well, distribute the resulting mixture over the carcass inside and out.
  4. Next, you need to close the bird's neck cavity by pulling the loose skin over the opening and securing it in place with a metal skewer.
  5. The wings of the carcass should be secured under the back, the legs should be tied with twine, and the chicken should be placed in the air fryer bowl.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix the mushrooms and onions and place them with the chicken in any free space.
  7. Bake the bird with mushrooms for 30-35 minutes.
  8. Then you need to put the mushrooms and onions in a separate container, turn the carcass breast side down and cook for another 15-35 minutes, depending on the size.
  9. Next, mix the cooked mushrooms and onions with broth or water so that you get 1.5 tbsp. mixture, pour it all into a medium-sized saucepan and boil.
  10. In a small bowl, mix 0.25 tbsp. water with flour and pour the resulting mass into the boiling mixture, cook until thickened, if desired, season with coarsely ground pepper and salt.
  11. It is recommended to serve the chicken on a large platter, garnished with fresh rosemary sprigs, accompanied by mushroom sauce.

Chicken with mushrooms in a sleeve in an air fryer

Required ingredients:

  • chicken (breasts) - 3 pieces;
  • mushrooms (frozen honey mushrooms or champignons) - 200 g;
  • sour cream;
  • salt;
  • spices (to taste).

Cooking process:

First you need to wash the chicken breasts and cut them into small pieces. Then defrost the mushrooms. After this, mix the mushrooms with chicken and spices (to taste). Add sour cream to these ingredients and mix the whole mass.

Then spread the resulting mixture into pots and cover them with foil or a lid, and put it all in the air fryer. The pots should be on the bottom rack, because this way the chicken will turn out very juicy. Cook at high speed for about 45 minutes, and the temperature should reach 260 degrees.

At this time, you can grate the cheese, which you can then sprinkle on the chicken and mushrooms to give a wonderful aroma and excellent appearance to the chicken.   • 1 tsp. seasoned salt (for example, Svan salt);
  • 0.25 tbsp. flour;
  • 2 tbsp. chicken broth.

For rubbing:

  • 2 tbsp. l. softened unsalted butter;
  • a pinch of garlic powder;
  • optional, sea salt and coarsely ground pepper;
  • 2 drops of liquid smoke.

Step-by-step cooking process

  1. The chicken needs to be washed and dried, rubbed inside and outside with seasoned salt, coarsely ground pepper, paprika, garlic and onion powder and placed on the air fryer rack, cook at 180°C for 15 minutes.

  2. In a small bowl, melt the butter and combine it with liquid smoke and, if desired, salt, garlic powder and coarsely ground pepper.
  3. Rub the resulting mixture onto the chicken inside and out, wrap it in foil, return it to the air fryer and cook for another 25-30 minutes. at 160°C, or until its internal temperature reaches 72°C.
  4. Place butter and flour in a small frying pan on the stove, fry until golden brown, then pour in the broth in portions, whisking continuously, and cook until thickened.
  5. The finished “smoked” chicken must be served hot, accompanied by sauce.

Whole chicken in the air fryer

Recipes encourage us to experiment with marinades. Here's a method for preparing one of them. Mix a tablespoon of mustard powder, a pinch of ginger, coriander, thyme, black pepper and five crushed cloves of garlic with vegetable oil. Wash a chicken carcass weighing one and a half kilograms and rub with salt. After half an hour, take four mugs of lemon. Cut the skin on the breast and thighs of the chicken and place pieces of citrus under it. There is another recipe. Juicy chickens in an air fryer are obtained when several slices of lard are stuffed under the skin of the birds. Now rub the carcass inside and outside with the prepared marinade.

The given recipe is not the only one. You can experiment endlessly. Honey with mustard, soy sauce, paprika and dried tomato... The meat should soak in the marinade for an hour. After that, peel it off the skin and move it inside the chicken. We bake it as indicated in the previous recipe.

With beer

Whole chicken in the air fryer, the recipes of which contain marinade, always turns out very juicy. In this case, it is proposed to use non-standard marinating in a mixture of beer and seasonings.

What ingredients will you need?

  • 0.5 tbsp. salt;
  • 2 tbsp. l. Sahara;
  • 3 tsp. chili powder;
  • 4.5 tbsp. water;
  • 1 can or bottle (0.5 l) of beer;
  • 1 whole chicken (about 2 kg).

Step-by-step cooking process

  1. To prepare the marinade, in a 3-liter saucepan, mix salt, sugar and chili powder, pour in 1.5 tbsp. water, heat to a boil over low heat, stirring frequently, then turn down the heat and cook for 2-4 minutes. while stirring until most of the salt has dissolved.
  2. Next, remove the container from the heat and add the remaining 3 tbsp. water and beer, and cool, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes. to room temperature and all crystals dissolve.
  3. The chicken must be rinsed with cold water, then placed in a large zip-lock bag, poured with beer marinade, released the air and sealed, put the package in a deep medium-sized container and left chilled for 5-6 hours for marinating.
  4. After this time, pat the carcass dry with paper towels, lightly spray with cooking spray, place breast side down on the air fryer rack, set the temperature to 180°C and cook for 40 minutes.
  5. Then you need to turn the chicken over with tongs and continue cooking for another 15 minutes, then measure its temperature with a food thermometer. If the displayed value is above 72°C, the dish is ready.
  6. Finally, let the chicken rest for 15 minutes, then slice, drizzle with fresh citrus juice and serve.

Useful tips and tricks

Basic recommendations for roasting whole chicken in an air fryer are as follows:

  • Before cooking, pat the bird dry with paper towels. It is advisable to ensure that the chicken is dry - this will make its surface more golden brown and crispy. This is especially important when using dry spice rubs. Keeping the surface of the chicken dry will prevent the seasonings from sliding off during preparation and cooking.
  • If pre-marinating is not used, it is recommended that the carcass be lightly oiled or sprayed with oil spray, and also generously rubbed with seasonings (this is not necessary, but seasoned chicken will taste better).
  • With rare exceptions, a whole chicken should be baked in the air fryer, breast side up first.
  • An instant-read thermometer is required. When inserted into the thigh, the internal temperature should be at least 73°C. In this case, during the measurement process, it is necessary to ensure that the thermometer does not touch the bone.
  • It is necessary to leave the finished bird to stand for 15 minutes. before cutting. To do this, you can transfer it from the air fryer to a metal stand or grill. Once the chicken has cooled slightly, you can place it on a cutting board to slice and serve.

  • If the chicken used is smaller or larger than the recipe calls for, the cooking time will be different. For a 2.5 kg bird, it will take 1.25 to 1.5 hours. If it starts to brown too much during this time, you can cover it with foil.
  • An air fryer that is suitable for roasting a whole chicken should have a capacity of about 4.2 liters. If the whole chicken doesn't fit in it, you can simply cut it into 2-3 pieces or simply remove the backbone (and reserve it for making homemade broth later).
