Ingredients:

Unusual salad with salted herring, eggs and bacon

Ingredients

  • One salted herring fillet
  • Chicken eggs – 3-4 pcs.
  • Starch – 1 tbsp. l (incomplete)
  • A pinch of salt and a little ground pepper
  • Bacon – 1 package (100 g)
  • Onions – 1 pc.
  • Salted or pickled cucumbers – 2-3 pcs. small size
  • Mayonnaise or dressing - 2 tbsp. l.
  • Garlic – 1 clove

Preparation

Step 1. Break the eggs into a bowl, add a little salt and sprinkle with ground pepper. Mix well with a whisk. Add half a spoonful of starch to the egg mixture and mix again until the mixture becomes homogeneous.

Step 2. Heat the frying pan and spread a little vegetable oil with a brush. Bake egg pancakes on both sides in a frying pan. We lay out the finished pancakes separately so that they cool faster.

Step 3. While the pancakes are cooling, cut the onions into thin half rings or feathers. And for now we put it aside.

Step 4. Cut the bacon into small pieces. Fry it in a heated frying pan until golden brown. For now, transfer the finished bacon to a plate so that it also cools a little.

Step 5. In the fat left over from frying the bacon, fry the onion. Once the onion is soft and slightly golden, transfer it to a plate.

Step 6. Meanwhile, cut salted or pickled cucumbers and herring into small cubes.

Step 7. Let's make the already cooled egg pancakes. Place the pancakes in a stack, one on top of the other. Then we roll them all into a tube, and then cut them crosswise into strips no more than 1 cm wide.

Step 8. Now we assemble the salad. Place egg pancakes cut into strips, herring fillets, fried onions, and pickles into a large bowl. Add half the bacon to them. Mix well.

Add 1 clove of garlic, passed through a press, to the mayonnaise (optional). Add mayonnaise and mix everything again.

Instead of mayonnaise, you can make a delicious dressing. To prepare it you will need:

  • 3 tbsp. l. yogurt without various additives
  • 1 tsp. hot mustard
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 p. l. lemon juice

All ingredients are mixed and the dressing is ready.
Transfer the finished salad to a beautiful plate and serve.

Herring in a roll

This appetizer is very simple to prepare, but the unusual presentation makes it unforgettable and piquant.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lightly salted herring
  • Butter – 100 g,
  • Fresh dill,
  • Processed cheese,
  • 1 pickled cucumber,
  • Bread for croutons,
  • Refined sunflower oil.

Preparation:

We clean the herring and cut it into fillets. Layer the fillets to make two fillets wide. Cover the fillet with cling film and beat it a little with a kitchen hammer. Place the finished fillet on cling film.

First put the butter in a warm place to soften, add chopped fresh dill to the soft butter and mix. Lubricate the herring fillet with the resulting mixture.

Spread a layer of processed cheese on a layer of butter with dill.

Take a pickled cucumber and finely chop it, place it on a paper towel to absorb the excess juice. Then lightly press the chopped cucumber into the layer of processed cheese.

Ingredients:

  • Processed cheese - 400 g,
  • Beetroot - 250 g,
  • Ryazhenka – 150 g,
  • Milk - 250 g,
  • Wheat flour - 300 g,
  • Egg – 1 piece,
  • Sugar – 1 tablespoon,
  • Salt – 1 heaped teaspoon,
  • Refined sunflower oil – 50 g.

Preparation:

First, let's prepare the pancakes. To do this, boil the beets, peel and grind them in a blender or pass them through a meat grinder so that the beets turn into puree. Add fermented baked milk, egg and half a serving of milk to the beets, add salt to taste and mix the ingredients.

Gradually add all the flour to the beet puree, stirring the dough with a whisk. The dough should be thick, then add the rest of the milk while stirring.

Place the frying pan on the fire with a small amount of vegetable oil; when the oil is hot, pour in the dough in a thin layer and fry the pancakes on both sides. Let the finished pancakes cool.

Remove the herring from the oil and place in a colander. When the excess oil has drained, cut the herring fillet lengthwise into 3 strips.

Take the prepared pancake and grate the processed cheese on a coarse grater, distributing it evenly over the entire surface of the pancake. Place a strip of herring on a layer of processed cheese, stepping back a little from the edge. Wrap it in a roll and put it in the refrigerator for an hour.

Remove the rolls from the refrigerator and cut into pieces.

Green pancakes with herring

You will need to prepare the pancake dough and filling separately.

For the test you will need:

  • 200 g spinach;
  • dill to taste;
  • half a glass of water;
  • 3 eggs;
  • a little salt and sugar;
  • a glass of milk;
  • a glass of flour;
  • 4 tbsp. vegetable oil.

For the filling you need:

  • 100 g of paste-like cheese;

  1. First, the prepared greens should be poured with hot water and left for about 30 seconds. Then drain them in a colander and rinse with water.
  2. When the water has drained out, place the greens in a separate bowl, add water to it and beat until a cohesive mass is obtained.
  3. Then you need to beat the eggs, salt and sugar with a whisk or mixer.
  4. Next, you need to pour milk into the container with the eggs. It is necessary to gradually add flour to it and stir the ingredients until a dough forms. There should be no lumps in it: the base for the dough is quite thick.
  5. Then add mushy spinach to this mass and mix. If necessary, it is recommended to add more milk. Leave the dough for half an hour at room temperature.
  6. After heating the frying pan, you need to grease it with oil and pour a little dough into it. You should fry the pancakes on both sides over low heat. You should have about 12 thin green pancakes.

The steps for preparing the pancake filling are as follows:

  1. You need to fillet the herring and cut it into thin cubes.
  2. Then you need to add cheese, mayonnaise and herbs to the fish.
  3. Finally, you need to mix the ingredients. The pancake filling is ready.

To prepare the dish you need the following products:

  • 1 frozen herring;
  • 1 tbsp. salt;
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar;
  • 1 tsp spices for fish (the mixture includes allspice, fennel, dill and coriander);
  • 2 bay leaves.

To obtain a specific spicy salting, it is recommended to add ground cinnamon, cumin, a mixture of peppers and cloves to taste.

The step-by-step preparation process is as follows:

  1. First you need to defrost the herring, rinse it and dry it with a towel. Ideal if it is not gutted.
  2. Next, you need to place it in a bag, add spices, salt and sugar to it, rubbing the fish with them.

  3. Then you need to seal the bag and place it in the refrigerator (for 3 days). The fish must be turned over periodically.
  4. At the end of cooking, the salted herring should be removed from the bag, peeled, rinsed, and cut for serving.

It is recommended to serve this dish with potatoes and sandwiches.

Herring in mustard sauce

This snack will decorate any table, an excellent option for snacking on strong alcoholic drinks. Pairs harmoniously with any side dishes.

You can buy ready-made fillets, but usually they are covered in oil and seasonings, and this will greatly change the taste of the salad.

When you cut the herring, do not make the pieces too small. They should be felt and not turn into mush. The main ingredients should be approximately the same weight, and there should be the same amount of corn as pineapples. Don't skimp on mayonnaise - there should be a lot of it in this salad.

You will need:

  • onion – 250-300 gr.;
  • sugar – 1 tsp;
  • sea ​​salt – 1 tsp;
  • ground black pepper – 0.5 tsp;
  • vinegar – 25-90 gr.;
  • herring – 1 pc.;
  • pineapple pieces - 1 can;
  • boiled corn.

Cooking stages.

Peel and cut the onion into pieces.

Place it in a bowl, add sugar, pepper, sea salt and vinegar. Mix everything well.

When the onion releases juice - this will happen very quickly - stir it once and leave to marinate for 25-30 minutes.

Cut off the head of the herring, rip open the belly, and take out all the insides.

Make a cut along the back and cut off near the tail. Carefully separate the fish meat from the bone. Make sure there are no seeds left.

Remove the skin - try to do it carefully so as not to tear the fillet.

Cut the finished fillets into cubes approximately 1 centimeter in size.

Place the fish in a salad container. Place the onion, corn and pineapple there, squeezing out the juice in advance.

An unusual snack that tastes like a real cake. A very tasty snack with non-standard cream.

Ingredients:

  • Lightly salted herring fillet - 1 piece,
  • Beans - 100 g,
  • Egg - 1 piece,

The steps for preparing the salad are as follows:

  1. First you need to make a dressing from mayonnaise, honey, mustard seeds and fish oil. All components must be mixed with a fork until a homogeneous mixture is formed.
  2. For the salad, you need to boil the carrots and peel them.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh frozen herring – 1 kg,
  • Onions - 4 pcs.
  • Black pepper (ground) - 0.5 tsp,
  • Red hot pepper - 0.5 tsp,
  • Salt - 1 tbsp. l,
  • Tomato paste - 1 tbsp. l,
  • Vinegar (9%) – 50-75 ml,
  • Vegetable oil (refined) - 0.5 cups.

Preparation:

Defrost freshly frozen herring. We cut off the head and tail, not the skin

Another recipe for a delicious, juicy herring salad that can be decorated very impressively. In terms of its ingredients, it is somewhat reminiscent of “Herring under a Fur Coat.” But, unlike her, the ingredients are not laid in layers, but mixed, as in Olivier.

Externally, the salad looks festive, so you can safely put it on the New Year or Christmas table and treat it to guests. And it tastes beyond all expectations. The main thing is to make sure that the herring is lightly salted - it greatly affects the taste of the salad. Moreover, there are cucumbers here. When cutting foods, do not mix them together at once.

You will need:

  • herring fillet – 250 gr.;
  • boiled potatoes – 3 pcs.;
  • pickled cucumber – 2 pcs.;
  • boiled beets – 1 pc.;
  • apple – 1 pc.;
  • onion – 1 pc.;
  • lemon – 1 pc.;
  • mayonnaise – 3 tbsp. l.;
  • vegetable oil – 1 tbsp. l.;
  • sugar – 1 tsp;
  • salt – 0.5 tsp;
  • dill - 1 bunch.

Cooking stages.

Finely chop the prepared onion.

Rinse and dry the apple. Peel off the skin and cut into small pieces. To prevent them from darkening, sprinkle them with the juice of half a lemon.

Peel the cooked vegetables. Cut the potatoes and beets into small cubes.

Cut the cucumbers roughly the same way.

Herring, not in very large cubes.

Chop the pre-washed and dried greens.

Add salt, sugar, butter to a plate with beets and pour in the juice of half a lemon. Stir.

Combine all products except beets and greens. Add mayonnaise and mix well.

Ingredients:

  • Lightly salted herring – 1 piece,
  • Egg – 2 pcs.
  • Beetroot – 1 piece,
  • Carrots – 1 piece large,
  • Bread,
  • Mayonnaise – 2 tablespoons,

Preparation:

We clean the herring, remove the bones and skin. Cut the finished fillet into portions.

Boil the eggs, peel and grate them on a fine grater, grate the yolk and white separately.

Ingredients:

  • Avocado - 1 piece,
  • Canned herring - 1 can,
  • Tomatoes - 1 piece,
  • Chicken egg - 2 pcs,
  • Red onion - ½ head,
  • Ground black pepper - to taste,
  • Lemon juice - to taste
  • Beets 1 piece
  • Dill
  • Mayonnaise – 1 teaspoon

Preparation:

Finely chop half a can of canned herring.

Cut the tomatoes into small cubes.

We also finely chop the avocado and red onion.

Boil the beets and grate them on a fine grater. Mix all the ingredients, season with mayonnaise and a little lemon juice, add salt and pepper to taste.

Boil the eggs, cut in half, remove the yolks. Stuff the eggs with the mixture. Place a piece of the remaining herring on top and decorate with herbs.

Spring herring balls

Ingredients:

  • Lightly salted herring – 1 piece,
  • Potatoes – 4 pcs.
  • Egg - 2 pcs.
  • Processed cheese - 40 g,
  • Dill – 2 bunches,
  • Pomegranate seeds - for decoration,
  • Lemon juice - to taste
  • Salt, pepper - to taste.

Preparation:

Peel the herring, remove all bones, cut the fillet into small cubes.

Boil eggs and potatoes and grate on a fine grater.

In a deep container, combine potatoes, herring, processed cheese and spices.

Place the finished mixture in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

We take out the frozen mass and form balls. To prevent the balls from sticking to your hands, wet your hands with water. Roll small prepared balls in dill, garnish with pomegranate seeds on top and lightly sprinkle with lemon juice.
