If you like fast food dishes, but don’t trust the quality of such food, then repeat this amazingly simple recipe for lavash envelopes with chicken and vegetables at home.
How to cook “Pita bread envelopes with chicken”
1. First you need to marinate the chicken for 10-15 minutes. To do this, cut the pre-washed and dried fillet into small cubes and place in a deep bowl. Add salt, spices, dried herbs, a little vegetable oil. Stir and set aside.
2. In the meantime, you can pickle the onions. Cut it into thin slices and place in a small bowl. Add sugar, a pinch of salt, vinegar and water. Leave for 7-10 minutes, then rinse under running water and dry. If desired, you can use fried onions.
3. You can take absolutely any vegetables. In this case, it is about 200 grams of cabbage and medium carrots, finely chopped. Salt it a little, add a pinch of sugar.
4. Place the chicken in a heated frying pan and fry over medium heat until cooked. If desired, you can add a little soy or tomato sauce for juiciness.
5. Another spicy ingredient used in this simple recipe for pita bread with chicken is pickled cucumber. It needs to be thinly sliced, after drying it slightly.
6. Place the fried and slightly cooled chicken on a sheet of lavash. And then give free rein to your imagination: a little mayonnaise or sour cream, vegetables, etc.
7. Carefully fold the pita bread into an envelope (seam side down). Meanwhile, set a dry frying pan to heat up.
8. Fry lavash envelopes with chicken at home on both sides until golden brown. You can serve it with your favorite sauce or fresh herbs.
Lavash envelopes with chicken
I don’t know about you, but when we fry a whole chicken, we always have chicken breast left over. The most delicious parts of the chicken are eaten, but for some reason the dietary part is not popular. This time it turned out the same, there was chicken breast left and without hesitation I decided to make lavash envelopes with chicken. Lavash goes perfectly with many foods. You can wrap any filling in pita bread; sweet, meat, fish, vegetables. Lavash envelopes are an excellent quick pastry that is suitable for breakfast, snack and holiday table. The chicken breast is a little dry, so I decided to add two more ingredients to the filling for the envelopes. They gave the filling a special piquancy and juiciness. Lavash envelopes can be made with boiled, fried or baked chicken. I also recommend trying other equally delicious options with lavash;
- lavash envelopes with eggs and cheese,
- lavash tubes with different fillings,
- roll with crab sticks, cheese and eggs,
- simple lavash rolls,
- lavash roll with sausages,
- lavash roll with crab sticks.
To prepare lavash envelopes with chicken you will need the following products:
- 2 Armenian lavash;
- 0.5 chicken breast;
- 1 medium carrot;
- 20 pieces of seedless butter;
- 3 cloves of garlic;
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise;
- vegetable oil;
- salt.
How to cook pita bread envelopes with chicken step by step recipe
Step 1. Cut the fried boiled or baked chicken breast into small cubes.
Step 2. Take the required number of olives from the jar and place them on the board.
Cut the pitted olives into rings.
Step 3. Wash the carrots, peel and grate on a fine grater.
Step 4. Peel the garlic and pass through a press.
Step 5. Place all products in a bowl, add mayonnaise and a little salt. Mix the chicken filling for the lavash envelopes.
Step 6. Unfold the pita bread, fold it in half and cut it with a knife. Then fold it in half again and cut with a knife. Fold the lavash for the third time and cut it, you should get lavash squares like these.
Step 7. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, place on the stove and heat well. While the vegetable oil is heating up, you need to make envelopes with chicken from the squares of pita bread. Place a tablespoon of filling on the corner of the pita square. Wrap them in an envelope and place them in the pan, seam side down, so that the bottom side with the seam is fried first. Then transfer the fried lavash envelopes with chicken to a plate.
Here is a simple recipe for chicken envelopes that you can quickly prepare for dinner and feed your family.
Bon appetit everyone!
