Ingredients:

Lettuce leaves - 1 bunch. Chicken breast - 1 pc. Bacon - 150 g Red tomatoes - 2 pcs. Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp. Soy sauce - 1 tbsp. Lemon juice - 1 tsp. Mayonnaise - 1 tbsp.

Preparation:

This salad is quite festive. It is light and satisfying at the same time. Dress the warm salad with bacon with lemon-cream dressing.

Stage 1.

I don’t know about you, but since childhood I have had a clear understanding: salad is diced foods mixed in one bowl) Soviet times were passing, and with it the rigid boundaries disappeared. Gradually, salads began to be cut not only into cubes, but also into strips and large pieces. And then - shock! Seen Caprese for the first time. I still remember well how my girlfriends and I discussed with purely Ukrainian disdain: “What kind of salad is this? Sliced!” Yes, I confess, it was. Today I offer you an unusual salad, the recipe is quite restaurant-style, as is the presentation.

So, products. Don't be put off by the presence of chicken and bacon in the salad at the same time. There will be no dissonance. Of course, you can buy the usual bacon - cut into thin strips and vacuum sealed. But I live in Ukraine, so buying striped bacon is not for us. I have a big shmat (piece). If you already have homemade mayonnaise (like me) or you will use store-bought mayonnaise, then you only need 1 tbsp of vegetable oil. It is advisable to use cold-pressed and odorless oil (ideally olive oil, but I don’t insist). And finally, about the lettuce leaves. The list of ingredients lists the leaves specifically. And they look great in the dish itself (I've made it many times!). But this time there was an exclusive option - in the supermarket someone (and how dare they?!) bought up all the lettuce leaves! And I'm already tuned in. Therefore, today I have a salad with Chinese cabbage (for those who read my articles, such a replacement is not news, because Chinese (Chinese) cabbage is a type of lettuce).

Stage 2.

First, let's prepare the chicken. I cut the chicken fillet into slices like these. They should be approximately equal in thickness and size.

Stage 3.

Now the chicken needs to be fried. And so that it remains juicy. This is a fillet, so it won’t be easy. We choose the eastern version of food processing - quickly! Pour less than a tablespoon of vegetable oil into a heated frying pan and heat it up. Now fry the chicken pieces on one side over high heat. Fast, about 2 minutes. After this, turn the pieces over to the other side and pour in soy sauce. I fried the chicken in 2 batches (because there was more than one plate of salad), and it took about 1 tbsp for the whole fillet. l. sauce. After adding the sauce, do not reduce the heat! The pieces will immediately acquire an appetizing amber color. Please note that I did not pre-salt or pepper the meat. Salt replaces soy sauce. And add pepper yourself, if desired. Fry the chicken on the second side just as quickly - a few minutes. Remove the finished pieces onto a paper towel to remove excess fat.

Stage 4.


After we have prepared the chicken, we will chop the remaining ingredients. Both the tomatoes and bacon should be about the same size as the chicken pieces.

Stage 5.


We begin to “collect” the salad. It is better to take an elongated plate. Place lettuce leaves in the center (if you use a mix, do not overdo it with bitter varieties). There should be a lot of green part of the finished dish, don’t skimp!

Stage 6.


Water the leaves with dressing. You can choose your own dressing for this salad. I like this option: homemade mayonnaise + lemon juice + ground pepper. Moreover, the dressing for this salad should be thin, especially since at any stage it can be diluted with olive oil, for example. I would like to separately note that training on leaves is very necessary. Then, when eating the salad, you will be able to enjoy the taste of its green part, because the sauce will make the leaves so tasty that you will never refuse them! Place pieces of fried chicken fillet on top of the lettuce leaves.

Stage 7.


Place a slice of tomato and fried bacon on each piece of chicken. There is a nuance here. If you add uncooked bacon, you will definitely lose in taste. And you will get turrets from three products that are not combined with each other. Fry your bacon the wrong way and you'll end up with chips instead of delicious flavor. In fact, I don't know exactly how to fry bacon for salads, but I'll share my method. In Ukraine, every housewife knows how to fry potatoes in lard. And everyone knows that in order for the lard to render well, you need to put it in a hot, dry frying pan, then there will be a lot of fat, and the pieces themselves, having given up, will wither and shrink. So I'll do the bacon for the salad differently. I place the bacon pieces in the same pan where the meat was fried. There is a thin layer of fat and hints of soy sauce residue. Fry over low heat for 1 minute on each side (approximately, of course). As a result, we get juicy, neat, beautiful pieces of hot bacon. Immediately place it on top of the tomatoes and serve the salad to the table!

Stage 8.

Warm salad with bacon is ready! The hot bacon, with its dripping juices, connected all the products with each other. The dish turns out to be very harmonious in taste. The salad dressing doesn't pour over the turrets, notice? Only for leaves. Anticipating your questions, I’ll say right away that eating such a salad is very convenient; a traditional fork and knife do an excellent job.

By the way, this salad opens up the field for imagination: you can change the dressing (although I would leave the lemon juice, at the same time it will dissolve fats perfectly), you can serve the salad as an appetizer, you can use the salad element for garnishing on individual plates, or you can perfectly come up with a minimalist serving for buffet Don't be afraid of restaurant food! We can easily prepare many of them in our cozy kitchens!

Let's put the pan on to heat up. For our salad, potatoes must be boiled in their skins and eggs must be hard-boiled.

Next, you need to take a convenient dish in which the layers of salad will be placed. First, mash the potatoes with a fork. Place the potatoes on the bottom of the mold and coat this layer with mayonnaise.

All other ingredients come in any order: cucumbers, bacon and onions, eggs. If you are afraid for your figure, grease the layers with mayonnaise one after another.

Now you need to turn the mold upside down onto a serving dish, sprinkle finely chopped green onions and any other herbs on top. Salad ready!

  • sunflower oil – 60 g
  • Apple vinegar
  • powdered sugar
  • ground black pepper
  • walnuts

It is enough to chop the Beijing cabbage finely. Cut the bacon into cubes. Fry it in a frying pan until the fat is not completely melted. Peel and chop hard-boiled eggs.

Pass the walnut kernels through a blender. Mix crushed walnuts with powdered sugar, salt, black pepper and apple cider vinegar. Combine all the prepared ingredients and mix the light salad well.
