Preparing yeast dough
To do this you need:
- flour (sifted) 0.5 kg;
- milk/water 200 ml;
- rast. oil 3 tbsp;
- sugar 1 tsp;
- live yeast 25 g (dry 7 g).
- In warm water or milk, mix live yeast with sugar and salt well. If you are using dry yeast, you need to let it rise for about 20 minutes.
- Add a third of the flour. Mix well. Set aside, covered with a towel, for 30 minutes in a warm place (this is how we make the dough).
- Add the rest of the flour and add the oil. Knead a very soft dough that sticks to your hands.
- Set aside again, covered, for half an hour in a warm place. The dough should double in size.
In the meantime, let's start with the filling.
Pie filling
- 5 medium potatoes;
- onions 3 pcs.;
- canned fish;
- salt, spices.
- Peel the potatoes and onions.
- Cut the potatoes into three coarse graters or very thinly slice them. Add spices and salt, taking into account that the fish is already salted.
- Finely chop the onion. If desired, it can be fried or sprinkled with lemon juice.
- We take the fish out of the jar and, if there is any, select the bones. Crush it with a fork.
Cooking a pie
- Divide the dough into two parts.
- Place the first part in a greased form. Using your hands, level it over the entire surface.
- Place the potatoes in an even layer, moving away from the edges.
- Place onions and fish on top.
- Roll out the second part of the dough to the size of the pie, dusting it with a little flour.
- Cover the pie with dough and seal the edges.
- Leave in a warm place for 20 minutes to allow the dough to rise a little more.
- We make a small hole in the middle so that the steam does not lift the top of the pie. We can pour a little oil sauce into it, which is left over from the fish.
- Cook the pie with potatoes and fish in the oven for one hour at 180° until beautifully golden brown. If necessary, add cooking time.
- Grease the finished pie well with butter and, covering with a towel, let it cool slightly.

Step-by-step cooking process
- Beat fresh chicken eggs into a deep bowl, add salt and granulated sugar, lightly beat with a mixer until fluffy and light.
- Add low-fat sour cream, homemade mayonnaise to the beaten eggs and mix everything again with a mixer.
- Advice. You can look at recipes for making delicious and healthy homemade mayonnaise for every taste on our website.
- Mix wheat flour with baking powder and sift everything together through a sieve.
- Add flour little by little to the egg mixture, mixing well each time with a mixer so that there are no lumps.
- Open the canned fish, place it in a bowl along with the liquid, and mash with a fork.
- Wash a bunch of green onions and finely chop them with a knife.
- We do the same with a bunch of green onions.
- Grease the mold with butter and sprinkle with semolina. But if you use a special non-stick emulsion prepared according to our recipe to lubricate the mold, then you won’t have to sprinkle anything with semolina.
- Pour half of the prepared dough into the mold, spread the canned fish evenly on it, sprinkle with herbs.
- For beauty (at your request) sprinkle with white and black sesame seeds.
- Fill the filling with the second half of the dough, send the form with the pie to the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 35-40 minutes. As always, check the readiness of the pie with a wooden skewer.
- Take the finished cake out of the oven, let it cool slightly and remove it from the pan onto a plate.
Bon appetit.
