Step-by-step preparation:

  1. Grind homemade fat cottage cheese until smooth.

  2. Add sugar, salt, mix everything slowly with a spoon so that the melted sugar does not moisten the cottage cheese.
  3. Beat in the egg, mix, add a packet of vanilla sugar, mix everything again.

  4. Add flour one spoon at a time until the dough reaches the required consistency.
  5. The dough for lazy dumplings should stick together as a solid lump, slightly stick to your hands, but not spread.
  6. Flour the cutting surface to roll out the dough.
  7. Divide the entire mass into two equal parts, form each half into a sausage, and give it an even shape.
  8. Take a knife and divide the dough into 10 equal pieces.

  9. Prepare a container for cooking. Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan, add salt.
  10. Carefully place the curd sticks into boiling water and stir so that they do not stick together.
  11. Continue cooking the dumplings that float to the surface for another 4–5 minutes.

  12. Remove the dumplings from the pan with a slotted spoon and place in a deep plate.
  13. Place butter cut into small pieces on top.
