If you want to quickly and easily bake something delicious, the “Snail” lavash pie is what you need. There is no need to prepare the dough; you choose the filling according to your taste and as a result you get a rich and tender pastry. First, you need to turn on the oven to heat up and, one by one, prepare the components for filling the “Snail” pie from pita bread. Cut off a couple of outer leaves from a small head of cabbage and chop them using a special grater. You can use a knife, but only very finely. Wash the tomatoes and cut into small cubes.

Squeeze peeled garlic cloves into a bowl with minced meat. Sprinkle with salt and ground pepper, the amount of which can be adjusted to suit your taste. Mix the minced meat and spices well. Pour just a little vegetable oil into the frying pan, heat it over the fire and put the minced meat in it for frying. Simmer over high heat for a few minutes, then reduce and cook for another ten minutes. The next ingredient that needs to be added to the pan is shredded cabbage.

Stir and simmer for about fifteen minutes. Then add chopped tomatoes, stir, after five minutes remove the pan from the heat and let cool slightly. Place sour cream in a deep bowl, sprinkle with a little salt and pepper and beat in the eggs. Beat with a blender until smooth. The filling is ready. Now you need to grease a round-sized fireproof mold well with soft butter and start forming the rolls for the pie.

You need to spread a sheet of pita bread on the table and place the already cooled filling of fried vegetables and minced meat on its edge. Then roll up the roll and place it along the edge of the refractory mold in the shape of a snail. Prepare the remaining three rolls in the same way and lay them out so that one continues with the other. Thus fill out the entire form. Pour the mixture prepared from eggs and sour cream evenly over the top. Place the pan in the oven and bake at two hundred degrees until a golden brown crust forms. Then remove the “Snail” pie from the pita bread with minced meat, let it cool a little and serve it while still warm for tea.

Cooked with tomatoes, cheese and sour cream

For a juicy roll, you only need tasty and ripe tomatoes. In the “correct” filling, they are no less important than meat and cheese.

You will need:

  • lavash – 1 sheet;
  • minced meat – 0.5 kg;
  • Dutch or Russian cheese – 170-210 g;
  • onion – 1 pc.;
  • tomatoes – 2 pcs.;
  • sour cream 15-20% – 200-250 g;
  • mayonnaise – 155-170 g;
  • salt, pepper, spices;
  • favorite greens;
  • vegetable oil.

Step by step recipe:

  1. Bring thin onion half rings until golden brown. Then continue frying them with salted and peppered minced meat.
  2. Immerse the tomatoes briefly in boiling water, then carefully remove the skins. Cut into equal slices.
  3. Mix mayonnaise with sour cream, add salt and herbs.
  4. Place a layer of minced meat on the unfolded pita bread, then pieces of tomatoes.
  5. Drizzle with a small amount of sauce, sprinkle with herbs and grated cheese.
  6. Carefully roll up the roll, place in the pan, and spread evenly with the remaining sauce. If the sour cream is of good quality, the filling will be thick. You can use a spoon to make “waves” on the surface of the roll.
  7. Bake for half an hour in the prepared oven.

The pie turns out consistently tasty and is equally good both hot and cold. It is better to cut the cooled roll thinly.

How to bake in a slow cooker

Baking a lavash pie with meat in a slow cooker will take a little longer than traditional baking in the oven.

You will need:

  • thin pita bread – 2 sheets;
  • minced meat – 420 g;
  • fresh cabbage – 270-310 g;
  • bell pepper – 1 pc.;
  • onions – 2 pcs.;
  • Dutch cheese – 120 g;
  • eggs – 3 pcs.;
  • sour cream 20% (or light mayonnaise) – 7-8 tbsp. l.;
  • tomato paste (Georgian sauce, ketchup) – 60-70 g;
  • herbs, salt, pepper, seasonings.

How to cook:

  1. Mix the greens, onion pieces and shredded cabbage in a bowl. Add salt and seasonings to the filling to taste.
  2. Chop the pepper as you like and grate the cheese.
  3. Using a spoon, spread the mixture of tomato sauce and two tablespoons of sour cream over the pita bread.
  4. Spread some of the minced meat and cabbage filling (exactly half) in an even layer, add ½ of the cheese and pieces of pepper. The pie will be even tastier if you use several different types of cheese.
  5. After a couple of minutes, the lavash with filling can be rolled up: during this time it will soften a little and will break less.
  6. Now repeat everything with the second sheet of dough.
  7. Place the rolls like a snail in a greased multicooker container.
  8. Mix 5 tablespoons of sour cream with pre-scrambled eggs. Pour the mixture over the rolls and place them in the slow cooker.
  9. Set the “Baking” program and cook for an hour and a half.

Allow the pie to cool briefly before serving. This recipe is also oven safe. In this case, baking will take 1 hour.
