So, to prepare chicken legs with potatoes, prepare potatoes, sunflower oil, salt, water, spices for potatoes, chicken legs, mayonnaise, ground paprika, turmeric, ground black pepper, oregano.
Peel and wash the potatoes.
Cut it into slices, mix with salt, sunflower oil and potato spices, stir. Place the potatoes in a baking dish.
Wash the legs, add mayonnaise, salt, ground black pepper, turmeric and paprika, as well as a pinch of oregano or other dried aromatic herbs.
Massage the legs and place them in the pan directly on top of the potatoes. Carefully pour water from the kettle into this mold.
Bake the chicken legs with potatoes in the oven at 180 degrees until cooked (about 1 hour). If the water evaporates faster than the potatoes and chicken legs are cooked, you can add a little more. If necessary, cover the pan with foil at the end (if the crust of the legs becomes too browned).

Cooking chicken legs with vegetables in the oven
You can cook the dish in a sleeve, or you can directly in a baking sheet, but for baking you will need to cover the baking sheet with a sleeve (for better results). Do whatever is more convenient for you. We still offer the second option, since laying out ingredients in layers in a sleeve is not very convenient.
- Cut the legs into two parts, wash and dry.
- Cut the zucchini into rounds, removing the skin if necessary. Press the garlic through a press, mix with two tablespoons of sour cream and a pinch of salt.
- Place the zucchini on the bottom of the baking sheet, spread with sour cream, garlic and salt.
- On top of the zucchini you need to lay a layer of grated carrots, then - rounds of previously peeled potatoes. Brush the potatoes with sour cream and salt.
- Place tomato slices and sliced bell pepper on top of the potatoes. Grease with sour cream and add a little salt.
- Next, lay out the onion rings and chicken legs on top.
- Cover the baking sheet with a baking sleeve and tuck the edges inward.
Bake first for 30 minutes at 180 degrees. Next, you will need to remove the sleeve and increase the temperature to 200 degrees (no more, the bottom layer may burn at a higher temperature). Raise the baking sheet to the highest level of the oven, bake for a few more minutes until the chicken is covered with an appetizing crust.
Simple and easy recipe with photos
To prepare a complete dinner for a family of 4 you will need:
- 2-3 legs (if your appetite is great, then it’s better to take one for each family member);
- 2 kg of potatoes;
- 4-5 tablespoons of sunflower oil for frying potatoes;
- A few cloves of garlic (if you want some spice);
- Seasoning for meat, curry, pepper and other spices to taste;
- Soy sauce – 30-50 ml;
- Salt.
Every family has lovers of both thighs and shins. To please both, it is better to cut the legs (but you can, of course, not do this).
The cut legs should be placed in a separate bowl, rubbed with garlic (if using this ingredient) and mixed with all the seasonings, spices and salt.
Then pour soy sauce over them and stir again.
For now, let's put them aside and let them marinate. In the meantime, turn on the oven so that it warms up to 220 degrees, and start making potatoes.
Lightly dry the peeled, well-washed potatoes with a towel, cut into thin slices and fry for 5-7 minutes (don’t forget to add salt). Before placing the legs on a baking sheet, you need to squeeze them out and dry them slightly.
Now that everything is ready, pour a little oil onto a baking sheet, lay out the legs, and fill the rest of the space with potatoes.
Cook for 40-60 minutes, occasionally looking into the oven. If you notice that the potatoes are burning, add hot water directly to the pan.
The legs turn out juicy and with a pleasant, appetizing crispy crust.

The perfect treat for the holiday table
Don't know what to treat your guests to? Try to cook a simple, but very satisfying and incredibly tasty dish. It will surely please everyone.
Compound:
- 100 g hard cheese;
- 2 onions;
- 2 pcs. hams;
- 12 pcs. potatoes;
- spices and salt.
Preparation:
- Wash and dry the cooled hams.
- Cut the ham into portions.
- Lubricate them with medium fat mayonnaise and marinate for half an hour.
- Place the chicken thigh pieces on a greased baking sheet.
- Peel the onion and chop it into rings.
- Place the onion on top of the poultry meat and grease this layer with mayonnaise.
- Cut the peeled potatoes into slices and place on top of the onion.
- Sprinkle the potatoes with salt, seasonings and mayonnaise.
- Sprinkle the whole dish with grated cheese on top and put it in the oven.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes. The cheese will melt and turn into a fragrant crust.
Hearty chicken legs with potatoes in the oven in the sleeve
This recipe is recommended for lovers of mushroom flavor, as we will cook it with the addition of champignons. However, if you don’t like them or simply forgot to buy them, then cook without them, while adding the rest of the ingredients according to the recipe.
All ingredients are also designed for 4 servings:
- 4 legs;
- 2 kg of potatoes;
- 400-500 g frozen champignons (you can, of course, also have fresh ones);
- 2 tablespoons mustard;
- 4-5 table. spoons of oil (sunflower, odorless);
- Salt, pepper, favorite herbs to taste.
Cut along the joint bone of each leg. Salt, pepper and coat with mustard (not greasy, but just enough to lightly cover).
Cover the dish with the legs with a smaller lid and put pressure on it. Let it marinate like this for about an hour.
Sort the champignons, cut them and fry until the moisture has completely evaporated. It is better to make the fire medium.
Cut the potatoes as you are used to (in circles, strips, cubes, slices), fry for 5-7 minutes over high heat. Don't forget to add salt.
When all the ingredients are prepared, take a baking bag or sleeve. Place potatoes, chicken legs and mushrooms there and shake lightly.
Before putting the pieces of legs in the bag, it is better to lightly wipe them with a napkin; the smell of mustard will not be felt, and the meat will become tender and juicy after cooking. The sleeve is secured on both sides with clips.
After this, we make punctures in the sleeve, otherwise the bag will swell and may burst. Place on a baking sheet with the holes facing up and bake in an oven preheated to 220 degrees; there is no need to heat it higher.
Baking time is about an hour. If you want a dish with an appetizing crust, then 10-15 minutes before you take out the baking sheet, you need to carefully cut the bag.
Cooking chicken legs in foil
This is truly a versatile dish. It can be a delicious dinner on the everyday menu, or it can even take its rightful place on the holiday table.
- 4 legs;
- 2 kg of potatoes;
- 100 gr. prunes;
- 2 medium onions;
- 2 medium carrots;
- 3-4 table. spoons of oil (sunflower, odorless);
- Tomato paste;
- Salt, pepper, favorite herbs (dill, parsley, basil).
Rinse pitted prunes with warm water and pour boiling water over them. It is necessary to leave it to swell for at least 15 minutes, preferably half an hour. Chop the legs into 5-6 pieces, place in a separate bowl, sprinkle with pepper and salt.
For those who like it, you can add garlic. But it’s not the main thing in this recipe. The main note should be prunes.
Finely chop the onion and grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Fry briefly until half cooked (6-7 minutes). At the end add tomato paste.
Cut the potatoes into slices. It also needs to be fried over high heat for about 3-5 minutes. But you don’t have to do this; it will still cook in foil.
Now you can turn on the oven. When you need to place the legs, it should already be well warmed up.
Take two layers of foil, lightly grease it with oil, lay out the potatoes, put a layer of pieces of chicken legs on it, then fried onions with carrots and tomato paste, and then chopped prunes on top.
It is better to take extra foil and wrap it so that it does not burst during baking. No need to turn over.
Cooking time for chicken legs with potatoes in foil is about an hour at an oven temperature of 220 degrees.

- 200-250 gr. mayonnaise;
- A tablespoon of mustard;
- Salt, pepper, herbs, seasonings to taste.
First of all, you need to marinate the chicken with garlic, mayonnaise (use half of the total amount), seasonings, pepper, salt and mustard. Now you can set the meat aside while you prepare the rest of the food.
Prepare the potatoes and lightly fry, not forgetting to add salt. You don't have to fry it, but be sure to salt it.
You need to take a large baking sheet so that all the ingredients are spread out in a not very thick layer, pour a little oil and lay out all the ingredients: first the chicken, then the potatoes.
You can mix the potatoes in a separate bowl, add mayonnaise and then cover the chicken pieces in this form. There is another option: lay out the potatoes, and apply mayonnaise on top in the form of a grid.
To make the mayonnaise mesh smooth and beautiful, cut off a small corner of the mayonnaise bag with scissors and squeeze it directly onto the potatoes in the form of a mesh.

Step by step cooking
During cooking, the cook should act alternately:
- The chicken is washed, cut, dried, marinated. The marinade is prepared from pressed garlic cloves, salt, seasonings, mayonnaise, pepper, mustard;
- the meat is immersed in the mayonnaise mixture and left to soak for 30 minutes;

Place the dish in an oven preheated to 210°C for 50-60 minutes. If the potato layer dries out and the meat is not ready yet, you need to add 1 tbsp. boiling water and turn the pan over to the side that burns the most.

First you need to prepare all the necessary products. Instead of chicken legs, you can also use other parts of the chicken, such as drumsticks or thighs. It is best to take full-fat kefir and always fresh. Any greens will do - parsley, dill, cilantro, green onions. To improve the taste and flavor of the dish, you can use any spices that are combined with meat (ground black or red pepper, coriander, ginger, oregano). If desired, you can also add garlic. Curry seasoning works very well for this dish.
The greens must be thoroughly washed, dried with a paper towel or napkin and finely chopped. You need to add about a third of a teaspoon of salt, spices to taste and chopped herbs to kefir. You can squeeze out a clove of garlic. Then mix everything.
If necessary, defrost the chicken meat, then wash it well with hot water. Carefully check to see if there are any feathers left and, if necessary, remove them. Also clean the meat from films.
