Ingredients

  • Minced pork and beef - 700 g;

  • Tomato paste - 1 tbsp;
  • Spicy mustard - 1 tsp;
  • Boiled rice - 6 tbsp;
  • Garlic - 1 clove;
  • Water - 350 ml.

To prepare meatballs in vegetable gravy, prepare the necessary ingredients from the list.

Place minced meat in a bowl. Grind the garlic and one onion in a blender and add to the minced meat. Add paprika, ginger, salt and pepper.

Mix the minced meat thoroughly, then add boiled rice and 100 ml of cold boiled water. Mix again and set aside for a while.

Cut the second onion into cubes and grate the carrots.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, fry the onions and carrots until golden brown, add 50 ml of water, mustard and tomato paste. Cover the pan with a lid, reduce heat and simmer the vegetables for 5 minutes. Then transfer the mass into a blender bowl, add another 200 ml of water, salt and blend until smooth, turning it into a sauce.

Form meatballs from the minced meat. There was a lot of minced meat for my shape, so I later prepared some of it according to a different recipe.

Pour the vegetable sauce into the mold and place the meatballs in it.

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees and bake the meatballs in vegetable sauce for about 40 minutes. While baking, baste the meatballs with gravy to keep them juicy.

Meatballs in gravy are ready! The gravy turns out very tasty, I recommend increasing the quantity!

Meatballs with ground beef and vegetables with gravy

We will need:

  • Minced beef - 500 gr.
  • Rice - 3/4 cup
  • Egg 1 pc.
  • Onion -2 heads
  • Potatoes -2 pcs.
  • Tomatoes - 2 pcs.
  • Bell pepper - 1 pc.
  • Carrots - 1 pc.
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Greens - parsley, dill.
  • Vegetable oil 3-4 tbsp. spoons.
  • Red capsicum.
  • Salt, ground black pepper, bay leaf

Preparation:

  1. Let's prepare the minced meat. Meat for it should be taken fresh or chilled. Any dish always tastes better with fresh meat. We twist it in a meat grinder. Cut the onion into small cubes, trying to cut it smaller.
  2. To make the meatballs really tasty, you need to saturate the minced meat with different ingredients. They give the finished dish a unique rich taste. Add finely chopped herbs and spices to the minced meat; there may be paprika, basil, oregano, rosemary, and saffron. Be sure to add salt and pepper, and add a crushed clove of garlic.

  1. Beat in the egg and add the washed rice. And we begin to knead the minced meat according to any method described above. Let's brew.
  2. Take a cauldron, or a thick-walled pan. If there is neither one nor the other, we will do the frying in a frying pan, and then transfer it to a regular pan, in which we will subsequently cook.
  3. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes, remove the skin and cut into cubes. Peel carrots, bell peppers and potatoes and cut into cubes.
  4. Pour 3-4 tbsp into the cauldron. spoons of oil, warm it up. Add the tomatoes and let them simmer until smooth. You can add just a little hot water to help the tomatoes steam better.
  5. Add carrots and bell pepper. Mix everything and simmer for another 5 minutes. Prepare hot water (boil in a kettle).
  6. During this time, mix the minced meat again. Properly made minced meat is not liquid, but rather elastic and elastic. Meatballs from it are formed easily and do not fall apart.
  7. Add chopped potatoes to the cauldron, pour a little hot water. Mix everything. Now carefully place our products, and quietly add hot water along the edge of the cauldron (so as not to damage them). Some people pre-fry the meatballs, and then lay them in and fill them with water. But I think this is absolutely unnecessary. The meatballs won't fall apart anyway. And their taste will be refined and delicate.
  8. Let it boil, add a piece of red capsicum. (as you like it spicier or not). But be sure to add at least a little. Rice is friends with spices such as cumin (cumin). Add a little of it too, a pinch. You can first rub it in your palms.
  9. Add salt and take a sample. Keep in mind that our minced meat is salted, and the water during the cooking process will partially evaporate and partially nourish the workpiece. Therefore, be careful not to oversalt.
  10. Reduce heat and cover with lid. Cook over low heat. Do not open the lid for about 30 minutes. Then open it slightly, add another crushed clove of garlic, ground black pepper and bay leaf.
  11. After another 10 minutes, our delicious meatballs with vegetables are ready. But do not open the lid immediately, let it brew for 10 minutes. And do not agree to open a minute earlier, no matter how your loved ones persuade you. They have most likely come running to the kitchen more than once in response to the smell. The smell will be not only in your apartment, but throughout the entire entrance. And if your neighbors come smelling it, treat them and share the recipe.

Peel the carrots and grate them on a coarse grater (you can chop them thinly if desired).

When all the vegetables are prepared, you can start frying them. To do this, heat a large frying pan (or saucepan) with vegetable oil, first add the onion and garlic, fry over medium heat until soft, stirring occasionally, 2-3 minutes.

Then add grated carrots, stir and continue frying for another 2-3 minutes.

Next, add the potatoes to the pan, drain the water, stir, and fry for 5-7 minutes over moderate heat.

Then add tomatoes.

Dilute the tomato paste in a glass of water and pour it into the vegetables, add salt and spices to taste, stir and simmer for a couple of minutes over low heat.

Immediately transfer the vegetables to a heatproof baking dish and smooth with a spatula.
