Manti is a very common food among the peoples of Central Asia, Turkey, Uzbekistan... In my opinion, they can be compared to dumplings, because they contain a set of the same products, only the cutting method is different. And another difference: the manti is steamed, and the dumplings are immersed in water.
But the most important difference is that minced manti is not passed through a meat grinder, but must be chopped either with a knife or a hatchet. And it is customary to eat manti, unlike dumplings, with your hands, so that the juice that accumulates inside the manti does not spill out.
Manti can be eaten with sauces; you can also serve them with a vegetable salad of pepper, garlic and tomato, which can be seasoned with vegetable oils.
Eastern peoples prepare traditional manti from lamb, beef, chicken or fish, and in addition to meat, they use pumpkin, potatoes, and cottage cheese as fillings.
In Russia we love pork very much, so I offer you a recipe for manti, which is made very often in our family.
