Jellied mince pie recipe

Jellied pie will help out the housewife in any situation. It is suitable for serving for breakfast, afternoon tea, and tea at lunch. You can also welcome guests with a pie or diversify the menu of the holiday table.

It is called jellied because for such a pie you need a liquid dough, and not a thick one - which is not laid out, but rather poured into a mold. The pie is baked in a way convenient for the housewife: in a slow cooker, oven or microwave. Baking in the oven tastes better.

Jellied pie dough

The dough is prepared in the following sequence of actions:

  1. Cut the peeled tubers for baking from batter into arbitrary pieces.
  2. Place the pieces in a saucepan, add water so that it is no higher than 5-7 mm of the vegetable layer.
  3. Cook after the water boils for 10-20 minutes until crumbly (cooking time depends on the variety).
  4. Turn the pieces into a soft, lump-free puree by adding the remaining cooking water.
  5. Pour kefir into a bowl with puree, mix thoroughly with a mixer, whisk or blender.
  6. Gradually adding half a portion of flour (it is pre-sifted together with soda), continue to work with a whisk.
  7. Beat in the eggs, mix everything with a spoon and beat well again.
  8. Add the remaining flour in parts as needed.

The dough for a quick pie with minced meat should not be too thick - it can be whipped, but not runny either - the consistency should resemble store-bought sour cream with a fat content of 15%.

To prepare an open potato-based pie from yeast dough, the indicated amount of ingredients requires 1-1.5 tsp. dry yeast (pressed yeast needs 3 times more). Then the sequence of actions in preparing the dough will be slightly different. Yeast is kept for 15 minutes in ½ cup of hot potato liquid (remaining after cooking), mixed with a tablespoon of sugar. Yeast is poured into the dough after adding half a portion of flour, before the eggs. Before baking, the yeast mixture is infused for 20-30 minutes in a warm place under a towel.

Yeast dough is only suitable for the oven: baking soda or baking powder is used for baking in a slow cooker or microwave.

How to make a pie from mashed potatoes with minced meat and cabbage:

Let's prepare the filling. Chop the cabbage into small pieces. Place in a frying pan, add a little oil. Fry until done.

Peel the onion and cut into small cubes.

Place the onion and minced chicken in another frying pan, add a little vegetable oil and fry until tender.

Mix fried cabbage and minced meat with onions. Add chopped dill, paprika, salt and black pepper to taste. Mix. The filling is ready.

Let's prepare the mashed potato dough for the pie. Peel 200 grams of potatoes. Pour water over it and boil until tender. Drain the water, mash the potatoes with a masher, add butter and salt to taste, stir.

Beat in the egg and mix thoroughly again.

Add flour. Don't add everything at once! Gradually add flour and knead the dough. The consistency should be soft dough, it should not stick to your hands. If necessary, you can add a little flour.

Knead the dough.

Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil, spread the potato dough, if it sticks too much to your hands, dip your hands in flour. Make sides.

Distribute the filling evenly.

To fill, beat eggs with mayonnaise. Add a little salt if necessary.

Pour the filling over the filling.

Place thinly sliced tomato on top and sprinkle with grated cheese.

Bake the potato dough pie in a preheated oven at 170-180 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

Bon appetit!!!
