When I need to quickly prepare dinner or lunch, I often prefer stewed cabbage with chicken. The dish is prepared quickly, and it turns out not only tasty, satisfying, but also inexpensive.

Even though it's simple, it's easy to mess up, so I want to give some helpful tips. Shred young cabbage thicker, and winter cabbage, which is harder, on the contrary, into thin strips. The chicken can be cooked separately, and then simply simmered together with vegetables for 15-20 minutes.

For such a dish, you can use absolutely any frying pan, but it is important to have a tight lid. Cabbage is stewed with chicken fillet, everything turns out very simply and quickly. It is possible to replace ketchup with paste or tomato puree.

Ingredients

  • 0.7 kg cabbage;
  • 0.4 kg chicken fillet;
  • 2 spoons of ketchup;
  • 1 onion;
  • 0.5 tsp. spices for chicken;
  • 3-5 tablespoons of oil.

How to quickly cook stewed cabbage with chicken

Pour a thin layer of oil into the frying pan. Its quantity will depend on the diameter. Let's warm up. Chop the onion, add it and fry it a little.

We cut the fillet, add it to the onion, fry for a couple of minutes, sprinkle the chicken with seasonings. Stir, do not over-mix. As soon as the fillet turns light, add shredded cabbage.

Fry the cabbage for literally five minutes. As soon as it reduces a little, add ketchup, pour half a cup of hot water, add salt and cover the frying pan. Simmer the chicken with vegetables for about 20 minutes.

In this recipe, cabbage is stewed without carrots, but you can add it if desired; the presence of bell pepper and garlic is also allowed.

Stewed cabbage with chicken - classic recipe

You can’t get tired of stewed cabbage, as there are a huge number of recipes. But classic is always a win-win option.

Ingredients:

  • chicken – 1 kg
  • cabbage – 2 kg
  • tomatoes – 500 g
  • paprika - 1 tbsp. l.
  • peppercorns
  • vegetable oil
  • salt.

Preparation:

Rub the chicken pieces with salt. Chop the cabbage, crush it a little with your hands and sprinkle with salt. Finely chop the tomatoes. Pour oil into a cauldron, add cabbage, tomatoes, peppercorns and paprika. Simmer for 20 minutes.

Add chicken pieces, stir and simmer for another half hour. Place the cabbage in a deep dish. Place chicken pieces on top. Bake in the oven until golden brown.

You can stew cabbage with any parts of the chicken. These could be pieces on the bone, drumstick or thigh.

Stewed cabbage with turkey

When we kept turkeys, I often stewed cabbage with turkey breast. The dish turned out to be light, tender and dietary. Instead of breast, you can use turkey wings or drumsticks, but you will need to chop them into pieces first. The dish will be especially tasty if the turkey meat is pre-marinated.

  • 400 gr. turkeys;
  • 500 gr. white cabbage;
  • 2 medium sized carrots;
  • 2 onions;
  • 3 tsp. tomato paste;
  • vegetable oil for frying;
  • 100 ml water;
  • salt, pepper mixture.

Pre-marinate the turkey fillet in a mixture of peppers and salt for 1 hour. Cut it into pieces, sprinkle with spices, pour in just a little oil and mix everything thoroughly so that each fillet is completely covered with spices. Then, cut it into pieces measuring 20*20 mm and place it in a frying pan heated with oil.

Fry on all sides until golden brown. Add a little water, about 100 ml, cover with a lid and fry over low heat for 20 minutes until all the moisture has evaporated.

Cut the onion into half rings and thinly slice the carrots.

Finely chop the cabbage. Transfer it to a bowl. Season with salt and pepper and let it sit for a while until it softens and releases juice.

Add onions and carrots to the fried meat. Stir, fry vegetables and meat until light golden brown. Add tomato paste and stir. Add the chopped cabbage and simmer for 7-8 minutes with the lid closed.

Then, mix everything and cover again. Simmer for 20 minutes until fully cooked.

Place the finished stewed cabbage with turkey on a plate, sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve.

Stewed cabbage with chicken fillet and carrots

This tender and satisfying dish is suitable for both an everyday menu and a festive feast.

Ingredients:

  • cabbage - 700 g
  • chicken fillet – 400 g
  • carrots - 200 g
  • onions – 2 pcs. 150
  • vegetable oil
  • tomato paste – 1 tbsp. l.
  • dry spices
  • salt
  • pepper.

Preparation:

Cut the fillet into cubes and fry in a saucepan in oil with spices.

As soon as the fillet turns golden brown, gradually add finely chopped onion, carrots and tomato paste.

Chop the cabbage and add it to the meat and vegetables. Stir, add a little water, add salt and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer for at least half an hour.

Serve the cabbage hot. You can serve potatoes, buckwheat or rice as a side dish.

Option 5: Stewed cabbage with chicken in a frying pan (with mushrooms)

Another recipe for making stewed cabbage with chicken in a frying pan. Since the composition contains mushrooms, pre-frying is indispensable. A wonderful dish for dinner. Cook with fillet and champignons, let the frozen mushrooms thaw a little.

Ingredients

  • 200 g champignons;
  • 600 g cabbage;
  • 1 onion;
  • 250 g fillet;
  • 1 carrot;
  • 5 tablespoons of oil;
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • 100 ml tomato juice.

How to cook

Pour oil into a frying pan, let it heat up, add the chopped onion and fry for a minute. Now is the time to chop the mushrooms. Chop as desired, add, fry with onions for another two minutes, then add chicken. Fry for five minutes.

Grate the carrots and chop the cabbage into thin strips so as not to delay the stewing process. Pour the vegetables into the pan, continue cooking without a lid and over high heat for another five minutes, stirring.

Pour in tomato juice, salt and pepper, squeeze out the garlic. Stir the cabbage with the remaining ingredients, cover, simmer until soft, the time depends on its variety. In any case, the mushrooms and fillets will have time to cook.

You can stew cabbage not in tomato, but simply add a little water or broth. It turns out delicious with sour cream; chicken and mushrooms go well with it.

Hot stewed cabbage with chicken and potatoes

An excellent dish option for the everyday menu. It's easy and quick to prepare. The result is a satisfying, healthy, tasty and juicy dish. For cooking, use a cauldron, duck pot or thick-walled dish.

Ingredients:

  • cabbage – 1 kg
  • chicken legs – 4 pcs.
  • carrots – 3 pcs.
  • onion – 1 pc.
  • potatoes – 600 g
  • vegetable oil
  • tomato paste – 2 tbsp. l.
  • pepper
  • greenery
  • salt.

Preparation:

Cut the chicken legs into several pieces and fry in a roasting pan over high heat for 10 minutes. Sprinkle the meat with salt and spices.

Finely chop the onion, grate the carrots. Add vegetables to meat and fry for 5 minutes.

Cut the potatoes and cabbage into large cubes and place in the duck pot. Add tomato paste and some water. Add salt, add spices and simmer for half an hour.

Serve the cabbage hot, sprinkled with chopped herbs.

Option 8: Stewed cabbage with chicken in a pan (with frying)

Above there is one way to prepare stewed cabbage in a saucepan, it is practically without frying. Here's another option. Some ingredients will be fried, this requires a frying pan, even a small vessel will do, no lid is required, but the main dish will be stewed in a pan.

Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken;
  • 50 ml oil;
  • 800 g cabbage;
  • 100 g onion;
  • 1 carrot;
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste;
  • 5 sprigs of parsley;
  • 0.15 liters of water (boiling water).

Step by step recipe

Pour a little oil into a frying pan (about 20 ml), lay out the chicken and fry on both sides until crusty, do this over high heat, then transfer it to the pan.

Add the remaining oil, pour in the carrots and onions; for stewing, it is customary to cut them in the same way as cabbage, most often it is into strips. Fry for a couple of minutes, add tomato paste, a few tablespoons of water, fry with vegetables. This will improve the color and taste. Transfer the vegetables into the pan after the chicken.

Shred the cabbage. You can lightly fry it in a frying pan, in which case we do it after the chicken and before the tomato. Or immediately transfer the raw vegetable to the pan.

All that remains is to add water, add salt, you can squeeze it out or just stick a couple of cloves of garlic. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Delicious young cabbage with chicken in a slow cooker

This recipe calls for young cabbage. But you can always change the recipe and prepare the dish with winter or even sauerkraut.

Ingredients:

  • young cabbage -1 kg
  • chicken breast – 300 g
  • young carrots – 2 pcs.
  • onions – 2 pcs.
  • fresh tomatoes – 4 pcs.
  • ground red pepper
  • vegetable oil
  • garlic – 1 clove
  • salt
  • pepper.

Preparation:

Slice the cabbage not very thinly. Chop the onion with a knife, cut the fillet and tomatoes into small pieces, and grate the carrots.

Fry the fillet pieces in the “Frying” mode with the addition of onions, carrots and garlic. After 10 minutes, add the tomatoes and simmer for another 7 minutes.

Place cabbage, salt and add spices. Turn on the “Extinguishing” mode.

Sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.

We recommend not rinsing sauerkraut so as not to lose a large amount of vitamin C.

With mushrooms

Stewed cabbage can be prepared not only with chicken, but also with mushrooms. The dish, prepared in a slow cooker, is suitable for consumption by those who adhere to PP and diet.

Ingredients needed for cooking:

  • water – 200 ml;
  • cabbage – 1 kg;
  • chicken breast – 1 pc.;
  • bay leaf – 2 pcs.;
  • onion – 150 g;
  • oil - for frying;
  • carrots – 150 g;
  • sugar – 1 tsp;
  • salt, pepper - to your taste;
  • tomato paste – 25 g;
  • champignons – 300 g.

Champignons can be replaced with any other mushrooms: forest, canned, oyster mushrooms. The taste won't change much.

The step-by-step manufacturing process consists of the following steps:

  1. Mushrooms must be peeled and cut into slices.
  2. The cabbage should be finely chopped.
  3. Grate the carrots and cut the onion into half rings.
  4. Pour oil into the bowl of the device and place the mushrooms. On the multicooker you need to set the “Frying” mode for 10 minutes. Next you need to add pieces of chicken meat.
  5. Next, you need to send the onions and carrots, continuing to fry for 10 minutes.
  6. Stir tomato paste in boiling water.
  7. Then you need to put the cabbage in the device and pour in the tomato juice. On the multicooker you will need to set the “Stew” mode for 30 minutes.

Before serving, the product should be sprinkled with chopped herbs.

Stewed cabbage with chicken and prunes

Prunes add an amazing taste to the dish: piquant, unusual, fascinating. Be sure to try it!

Ingredients:

  • cabbage – 1 kg
  • chicken fillet – 300 g
  • prunes – 150 g
  • carrots – 1 pc.
  • tomato paste – 3 tbsp.
  • onion – 1 pc.
  • vegetable oil
  • ground black pepper
  • salt.

Preparation:

Cut the fillet into pieces and fry.

Cut the onion into half rings, grate the carrots. Add to the pan with the meat and sauté for a few more minutes.

Place the cabbage cut into strips into the pan. Pour in a glass of water and simmer.

After a quarter of an hour, add tomato paste and prunes. If necessary, add a little more water. Salt and pepper.

Stewed cabbage with meat and potatoes

You can stew cabbage with different ingredients. If you want to make a hearty dish, add meat and potatoes and you will have a delicious stew. Cabbage goes with any meat, but today we only use chicken.

Ingredients:

  • 480 g poultry meat;
  • one onion and one carrot each;
  • 480 g cabbage (white);
  • half a kilo of potato tubers;
  • two tbsp. spoons of tomato paste;
  • spices, oil, water.

Cooking method:

  1. Cut the poultry meat into small cubes and fry in oil until golden brown. Once the meat is browned, you can sprinkle it with salt and spices. Then transfer the meat to a cauldron or deep saucepan with a thick bottom.
  2. In the same oil, sauté the onion and carrot cubes for seven minutes. We combine the meat and fried vegetables, pour in one and a half glasses of water and begin to simmer the contents of the cauldron.
  3. Shred the cabbage, grind it with salt and fry in a frying pan for 15 minutes. Then add the tomato paste, simmer for another five minutes and transfer to the cauldron with the rest of the ingredients.
  4. Follow the cabbage with potato cubes and simmer until fully cooked. Before serving, steep the stewed cabbage with potatoes and chicken for 15 minutes.

Stewed cabbage with chicken and mushrooms

A successful combination of ingredients makes this dish nourishing, aromatic and very tasty.

Ingredients:

  • cabbage - 600 g
  • chicken fillet – 400 g
  • onions – 2 pcs.
  • champignons - 400 g
  • tomato paste – 4 tbsp. l.
  • vegetable oil
  • ground black pepper
  • salt.

Preparation:

Cut the cabbage into strips, meat, onions and mushrooms into small pieces.

Fry the onion. Gradually add mushrooms and chicken fillet. Fry until the meat is half cooked.

Place cabbage in a pot, add salt, spices, a little water and fry with meat and mushrooms. After 10 minutes, add tomato paste and simmer until the cabbage is ready.

Stewed cabbage with potatoes and chicken

A simple but very tasty recipe for stewed cabbage. It is very easy to prepare and from the most common, inexpensive ingredients. Soft and tender potatoes give the dish additional satiety and a special homemade taste, just like in childhood. This dish can also be prepared in the sleeve.

  • 500 gr. chicken meat;
  • 300-400 gr. cabbage;
  • 6 pcs. potatoes;
  • 1 onion;
  • 1 carrot;
  • 3-4 tbsp. l. tomato paste;
  • 2.5 tbsp. water;
  • frying oil;
  • salt, pepper, spices, herbs.

Cut the chicken meat into small pieces. Place in a frying pan with heated oil and fry over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Cut the onion into cubes. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Finely chop the cabbage into strips.

As soon as a crust appears on the meat, add chopped onion. Fry until it becomes transparent. Add carrots, mix, salt, pepper and fry until carrots are half cooked.

Cut the potatoes into medium cubes and add them to the meat and vegetables. Place the cabbage on top, add a little salt, add spices and mix everything well.

Pour in water, add tomato paste, mix everything again and simmer over low heat under the lid until the potatoes are soft.

As soon as it becomes soft, it means everything is ready and you can call everyone to the table.

We put this yummy on plates, sprinkle with finely chopped herbs and gobble it up with great appetite on both cheeks!

Stewed cabbage with chicken and vegetables

A simple and affordable dish for the cold season. Stewed cabbage with meat and vegetables is a real complete lunch.

Ingredients:

  • cabbage – 1kg
  • potatoes - 4 pcs.
  • chicken legs - 2 pcs.
  • tomatoes - 1 pc.
  • carrots - 1 pc.
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • ketchup - 2 tbsp. l.

Stewed cabbage with chicken in a pan - quick and easy

Do you know why this stewed cabbage turns out especially delicious? Yes, because along with tomato paste I also put aromatic Georgian adjika in it. In addition, I cook the dish directly in the pan. Thanks to this, there is a lot of cabbage and when stirring it does not fall out on the stove. The main thing is that the pan has a thick bottom, then the vegetables and meat will not burn.

  • 600 gr. chicken;
  • 1 small head of fresh cabbage;
  • 2 carrots;
  • 2 onions;
  • 1 tbsp. l. tomato paste;
  • 1 tsp. Georgian adjika;
  • frying oil;
  • dill, parsley, green onion;
  • salt pepper.

We put the pan on the fire to warm up, pour in a little oil and add the onion, chopped into large cubes, into it. Fry until transparent.

Cut the carrots into large strips, like for pilaf. In my opinion, it looks tastier and more beautiful in the finished dish.

Add chicken pieces to the fried onions. I had a thigh, wings, part of the butt, a little breast.

You can just take fillet or any part of the carcass. Just don't cut it too finely, otherwise the meat may turn out too dry. Now we will simmer all this thoroughly together with the onions.

When the chicken is slightly browned, add the carrots and simmer for 5 minutes.

The carrots were fried and became soft.

Now add salt, pepper, a little grated nutmeg and adjika.

Mix all this thoroughly and leave to simmer for 2-3 minutes so that all the spices reveal their aromas.

Add tomato paste, stir and fry for another 2-3 minutes.

Cut the cabbage into medium strips and place in the pan with the meat and vegetables. If it does not fit in one go, then at first you can put only half.

Pour in 100 ml of water, cover with a lid and wait for the cabbage to darken slightly and settle. Then, lay out the rest.

Cover the pan with a lid and leave to simmer over low heat for about 40 minutes. During the cooking process, you need to stir everything several times.

When the dish is completely ready, add chopped herbs and turn off the heat. We put it on plates and you can start a very tasty dinner.

Cabbage with meat in a slow cooker

Ingredients:

  • chicken thighs – 400 g
  • cabbage – 400 g
  • onion – 1 pc.

Stewed cabbage with chicken in a slow cooker turns out to be a complete, hearty dish, since it contains potatoes. The product can be served at the table for lunch. As a side dish, you can use fresh vegetables or a light salad dressed with oil.

Products needed for stewing:

  • water – 180 ml;
  • green onions – 0.25 bunch;
  • cabbage – 400 g;
  • potatoes – 800 g;
  • chicken – 400 g;
  • onion – 75 g;
  • oil – 60 ml;
  • salt and pepper - at your discretion;
  • garlic – 1 clove.

Detailed description of the process of preparing a dish in a multicooker:

  1. The meat must be cut into pieces, and the onion must be cut into half rings. Next, the ingredients should be placed in the bowl of the device, add salt and fry in the “Fry” mode.
  2. Then the potatoes need to be cut into cubes and placed in a slow cooker.

  3. Place shredded cabbage on top. The composition must be poured with boiling water. The device must be closed with a lid and set to the “Extinguishing” program for 20 minutes.

Step by step recipe

Pour a little oil into the bottom of the pan and place it on the stove. Cut the washed and dried chicken into pieces. Chop carrots and onions into strips. Pour in the vegetables first. Lightly fry the onion until the onion is translucent, then add the bird. Cook for three minutes.

Grate the tomatoes and discard the skins. Pour the tomato over the chicken, cover the pan, simmer everything together for ten minutes, no need to add salt yet.

Stewed cabbage with chicken and royal mushrooms

Royal champignons are distinguished not only by the brown color of the cap and large size. They have a special, rich taste and aroma, reminiscent of the taste of porcini mushrooms.

Ingredients:

  • cabbage - 500 g
  • chicken fillet – 200 g
  • royal champignons – 200 g
  • potatoes - 300 g
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • carrots - 1 pc.
  • tomato paste - 2 tbsp. l.
  • vegetable oil
  • black pepper
  • salt.

Preparation:

Cut the fillet into pieces, sprinkle with black pepper and salt. Fry in a saucepan with gradually adding chopped onions and carrots.

Slice the royal champignons and add them to the meat and vegetables. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add tomato paste and a little water. Simmer for another 5 minutes.

Cut the cabbage into strips, add salt, mash and place in a saucepan.

Cut the potatoes into pieces and add to the cabbage.

Stir, add spices and simmer until done.

Option 7: Stewed cabbage with chicken in a slow cooker (recipe with beans)

A version of stewed cabbage along with chicken and canned beans. A slow cooker is great for preparing this dish. Here is a recipe with fillet, above you can find a recipe with bone-in pieces.

Ingredients

  • 400 g chicken fillet;
  • 1 kg cabbage;
  • 1 carrot;
  • 1 can of beans in tomato;
  • 40 ml oil;
  • spices.

How to cook

You can use less oil than indicated, this will reduce the calorie content of the dish. We send it to the slow cooker. Pour in onions and carrots and chop them into strips. Fry for 7-8 minutes on baking mode.

Cut the fillet into cubes and add to the vegetables. Fry with it for literally two minutes while the cabbage is shredded. We fill it in next, pour out the can of beans and tomato sauce, add salt.

Stir the ingredients together, close the multicooker, set the “Stew” program for 30 minutes for soft cabbage or 45 minutes if using a late and stringy vegetable. At the end, stir again.

Cabbage can also be stewed with green beans, but in this case, additionally add half a glass of tomato juice or paste diluted in water into the multicooker.

  • cabbage – 500 g

  • dry white wine – 150 ml

Preparation:
