Just now I bought a new frying pan, I’ve been wanting it for a long time, the old one has become completely unusable. And immediately, of course, I wanted to try it. I didn’t have to think long about the first recipe. On my way home with a new frying pan in my hands, I was mentally frying potatoes in it. And when I came home, I made my culinary fantasies come true.
Since there are far more than one or two recipes for fried potatoes, I had to agonize over the choice for several minutes. As a result, it was decided to cook country-style fried potatoes, that is, in the skins.
The children, coming home from school and seeing such a lunch, were very happy. And I, having decided to feed their appetite, reminded them that we ate such peasant-style potatoes at McDonald’s. You should have seen with what appetite they gobbled it up :)
These country-style potatoes in a frying pan are supposed to be served with sauces: ketchup, tartar sauce or mustard-mayonnaise sauce (my favorite option). And by the way, there will be homemade pickles. Well, some meat.

Country-style potatoes in a frying pan at home - recipe with step-by-step photos
Many people like country-style potatoes. It is a universal side dish, equally suitable for both meat and fish dishes. It goes well with both vegetables and mushrooms. Such potatoes turn out tasty and aromatic, they are eaten with pleasure without any additions, considering that this dish is tasty in itself.
We will need:
- Potatoes – 1 kg
- Celery – 1 stalk
- Bay leaf – 2 leaves
- Lemon – 2-3 slices
- Dill, parsley – ½ bunch
- Garlic – 5-6 cloves
- Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp. spoons
- Salt, pepper, favorite spices - to taste
Let's start cooking:
1. Select tubers of approximately the same size, preferably small. Wash them thoroughly and put them in a saucepan. We also add celery cut into large pieces, lemon slices, bay leaves, and add a little salt. Fill the contents with water and place on the stove over high heat.
During cooking, celery and lemon will “give” their beneficial substances to the potato and it will have a very pleasant fresh taste.
2. When the water in the pan boils, reduce the gas a little and cook the potatoes until tender. On average, a medium-sized vegetable needs 20-30 minutes to reach “condition”. We determine readiness by piercing the vegetable with a knife.
3. Drain the water from the pan and let the potatoes dry a little. It is best to place it on paper towels. Next, press it down with the blunt side of the knife.
4. Meanwhile, chop the garlic.
5. Chop the dill and parsley.
6. Pour a little vegetable oil into the frying pan and put it on fire. Fry the potatoes until golden brown on both sides.
7. A couple of minutes before it’s ready, sprinkle the vegetable with finely chopped herbs and garlic, salt and pepper and cover with a lid. Turn off the gas and let the dish brew a little.
Greens and garlic fried with potatoes give it a unique taste and aroma.
