Hello my dear readers!
Everyone knows what manna is. This pie doesn't really need advertising. And every housewife has her own favorite recipe, and sometimes even more than one. After all, dessert can be manna with air kefir, sour cream and milk. Like all dishes that are very loved and often prepared, it has not remained unchanged. There is a classic method of preparation, and there are also many modified options and variations.
Puffed manna with kefir - a very tasty recipe
Now we can buy any products for the most exquisite baked goods in supermarkets. But the classics are not forgotten. And today’s recipe is very simple and accessible to even the most novice housewives. However, it will not leave anyone indifferent - the pie simply melts in your mouth. There won’t be a crumb left on the dish, everything will be gone in a matter of minutes.
Let's try to bake this airy delicacy. This pie doesn't need any cream. It is already very tasty, just sprinkled with powdered sugar.
What we need:
- Semolina – 1 glass
- Sour cream – 250 ml.
- Egg - 2 pcs.
- Sugar – 1 glass
- Kefir - 250 ml.
- Butter – 100 g.
- Flour – 1 cup
- Salt - a pinch
- Vanillin -1/3 tsp.
- Baking powder - 1 tsp.
- Powdered sugar for decoration, optional
Preparation:
- First of all, I break the eggs into a tall bowl and beat them. Then I add sugar to the resulting egg mixture and beat again. Don’t be lazy to do this carefully, as the airiness of the dessert depends on it.
- Next, I add the following ingredients, each of which is accompanied by thorough mixing. So, I put sour cream, semolina, kefir, half a teaspoon of salt and soda.
- You can beat with a mixer or a hand whisk.
- I melt the butter and cool slightly so that it is not “boiling water”. You can dissolve it in the microwave. And then I pour the slightly warm mixture into the resulting mass.
- I make sure to sift the flour so that it is ventilated and the caked lumps are eliminated. And I pour it out there. I mix everything until smooth and let the dough sit. About half an hour for the semolina to disperse.
- I grease the mold or baking sheet well with any oil and fill it with dough. About two thirds. Expect the dough to rise as it bakes. The oven is already heated to 180 degrees. I place the prepared form there for forty minutes. Of course, you need to observe, because the power of ovens varies.
Readiness can be checked with a match or toothpick. Pierce the pie in the oven. If the dough does not remain on the wooden rod, then the baked goods are ready. Remove the finished cake from the oven and let it cool slightly. All that remains is to sprinkle the top with powdered sugar. Invite guests to the table. Enjoy your tea!

Classic recipe for manna with kefir in the oven
This is the fluffiest and fastest pie that always turns out. And when you eat it, it’s not even clear that it contains semolina. Although there is absolutely no flour in it, only semolina.
You can replace kefir with curdled milk, fermented baked milk or yogurt. Believe me, it will be just as delicious.
For a long time I have been making yogurt dough from my own homemade milk. I don’t buy dairy products in stores. And they often write to me that homemade kefir does not contain those special lactic acid bacteria. However, baking from homemade curdled milk turns out no worse, and even better.
We will need;
- Semolina - 1 glass
- Kefir - 250 ml.
- Sugar - 150 gr
- Chicken eggs - 2 pcs.
- Soda - 1 teaspoon. spoon
- Butter or margarine for baking - 100 gr.
- Pinch of salt optional
Preparation:
- I combine kefir with semolina and mix with a whisk. Take a richer lactic acid product. After all, today we don’t want to lose weight, but to make a delicious cupcake. I leave the resulting mixture to sit for 1-2 hours so that the semolina swells.
- Next, melt the butter on the stove or in the microwave. You can replace it with margarine for baking.
- In a large bowl, mix eggs with salt, sugar and baking powder. I add melted butter and a mixture of kefir and semolina here. I whisk all this stuff intensively. If you are too lazy to mix by hand using a whisk, use a mixer.
- My mold is silicone. You can take metal, glass or detachable. I grease it with oil and pour the finished dough into it. And then I put it in the oven preheated to 180 degrees. Baking time is relative. It depends on the power of your oven.
- Forty minutes have passed and you can check for doneness with a toothpick. If the surface is dry, then the dough is baked well. I take the pan with the pie out of the oven, let it cool a little and turn it over onto a plate. Sprinkle the top with powdered sugar through a strainer. You can decorate, if desired, with berries.
- This classic, airy manna tastes like a sponge cake. Sometimes I bake it on a baking sheet. And then I cut it into 4 parts and assemble a cake from them. You can coat the cakes with any cream, jam or jam.
