I offer a simple recipe for cooking turkey meat in the sleeve. The meat is baked together with vegetables, it turns out very juicy, soft and aromatic. The advantage is that the side dish and meat are cooked at the same time.

Turkey baked in a sleeve with potatoes


Turkey baked with potatoes in the sleeve is a “two-in-one” dish, that is, here you immediately get a hot meat dish and a side dish.
As a result, both potatoes and turkey meat will be juicy and aromatic. Any part of the turkey will work for this dish. Ingredients:

  • Turkey meat – 600 g.
  • Potatoes – 500 g.
  • Apple – 1 pc.
  • Vegetable oil – 1 l.
  • Garlic – 2 cloves.
  • Salt and spices.

Cooking process:

  1. Wash the pieces of turkey meat, wipe with a napkin, rub them with salt, spices and vegetable oil. Use any spices to suit your taste: ground black pepper, curry, turmeric, herbes de Provence or a ready-made turkey seasoning mixture will do. Leave the meat to marinate for 20-40 minutes.
  2. Peel the potatoes, wash and cut into large slices.
  3. Peel and core the apple and cut into thin slices.
  4. Peel and wash the garlic; no need to chop.
  5. Place all ingredients in a baking sleeve, making sure that they are distributed evenly. You cannot allow a situation in which the potatoes are baked at one end of the sleeve and the turkey at the other. The ingredients should mix and soak in the juice and aroma of each other.
  6. Place the pan with turkey and potatoes in an oven heated to 200 degrees. Bake for 1.5 hours. 10-15 minutes before the end, you can remove the dish from the oven, cut the sleeve and let the top bake.

When serving, turkey and potatoes can be decorated with fresh vegetables or herbs.

Soft and juicy turkey baked whole in the oven with apples and nuts

For tender, melting meat, you can add nuts, apples and aromatic spices.

Products:

  • turkey meat - half a kilogram;
  • sour cream – 100 gr.;
  • onion - 2 pcs.;
  • sweet and sour apple – 5-6 pcs.;
  • walnuts – 500 gr.;
  • sugar - 100 gr.;
  • salt - 100 gr.;
  • spices.


Preparation:

  1. First of all, let's make the marinade. Mix salt, sugar and spices thoroughly in the water.
  2. Place the thawed carcass on a plate and pour over the pre-prepared marinade. Leave for 12 hours. This will add juiciness and flavor to the turkey.
  3. The next step is to prepare the apple filling in nut sauce. Put butter in a heated frying pan, add sugar and fry the apples, previously cut into small slices. Sprinkle black pepper, cloves and cinnamon on top. Hot spices will add a unique Persian aroma to the meat.
  4. Fry the onion until golden brown, mix with chopped nuts and sauce. The thickness of the mixture should resemble minced meat. Take a fried apple slice and a little prepared mixture, and then make small cutlets. We stuff the insides of the turkey with these “cutlets”. Mix nut sauce and sour cream into the remaining mixture, grate the outside of the skin and place on a baking sheet. Potatoes cut into slices are a wonderful side dish.
  5. Bake at a temperature of 180 C, 2.5 -3 hours. To determine readiness, make several cuts; as soon as juice begins to come out of the carcass, the meat is completely ready.

Turkey in a sleeve with cherry tomatoes

In this recipe, turkey meat is marinated in soy sauce with lemon and baked with cherry tomatoes. The dish deserves the “festive” status because it looks bright and appetizing. Cherries can be taken fresh or frozen; thighs or drumsticks are suitable for meat.

Ingredients:

  • Turkey thighs or drumsticks – 700 g.
  • Cherry tomatoes – 400 g.
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp. l.
  • Oregano.
  • Sesame.
  • Ground chili pepper – 1/5 tsp.
  • Salt.
  • Grated ginger – 1/5 tsp.
  • Soy sauce – 2 tbsp. l.
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Garlic – 3 cloves.

Cooking process:

  1. Prepare the marinade for turkey: mix soy sauce, lemon juice, half the volume of vegetable oil. Add chili pepper, ginger and chopped garlic. Mix everything well.
  2. Pour the marinade over the washed and dried turkey meat and thoroughly rub the marinade into the pieces of meat. To marinate, leave the turkey for 40 minutes.
  3. After marinating, place the turkey in a sleeve, tie the ends and place in a mold or on a baking sheet.
  4. Wash the cherry tomatoes, add a little salt, and mix in a mixture of vegetable oil and oregano. Place the cherry tomatoes next to the turkey.
  5. Place the baking sheet (mold) in the oven and bake the dish for about 40 minutes at 190 degrees.
  6. A few minutes before you are ready, open the sleeve and brown the turkey on high oven power.
  7. Fry sesame seeds in a frying pan without oil. Sprinkle them over the cooked turkey.

Whole holiday turkey baked in wine sauce with oranges in the oven

A wonderful way to prepare poultry for all types of celebrations. Turkey in wine sauce, with orange and spices will be the main dish of the feast.

Products:

  • turkey – 5-6 kg;
  • onion – 1 pc.;
  • orange zest – 2 tbsp. l.;
  • white wine - 1/2 tbsp.;
  • fresh chopped sage – 1/2 cup;
  • flour – 1/4 cup;
  • celery (root) – 2 pcs.;
  • olive oil – 100 gr.;
  • chicken broth – 1.5 tbsp;
  • carrots – 2 pcs.;
  • ground black pepper;
  • salt – 2 tbsp. l.


Preparation:

  1. Mix black pepper with chopped sage, salt and orange zest. Rub the inside of the poultry skin with the mixture. Tie the wings and legs with thread. Place in a cool place for 7 hours.
  2. In a shallow plate, cut carrots and celery into cubes, onion half rings, pour olive oil over everything, stir, use half for the filling, and use the remaining half as a side dish for the poultry.
  3. Place the stuffed turkey in the oven preheated to 200C for 60 minutes. Pour your own juice on top and bake for another 1.5 hours. To prevent the vegetables from burning, add a little water to them.
  4. To prepare the gravy, remove the cooked turkey and let the juices drain into a heavy skillet. Pour in the wine and simmer over low heat for a couple of minutes until the volume of the sauce is reduced by half.
  5. Strain the resulting mixture into a glass and pour the chicken broth into it. After a couple of minutes, catch the fat that ends up on the surface of the glass. You will only need 4 tablespoons of fat, pour them into a small metal bowl, add flour and cook for 2-3 minutes, remembering to stir occasionally. The amount of broth is needed so that the sauce is thick enough to resemble liquid sour cream. Add salt and pepper to taste. Once it boils, cook for another 5-7 minutes.

Turkey in a sleeve with oranges

Turkey with oranges is a dish for real gourmets. The citrus aroma enhances the appetizing nature of the meat, and the orange juice makes the turkey even more tender. The recipe uses turkey fillet, which requires pre-marinating for an hour.

Ingredients:

  • Turkey fillet – 1 kg.
  • Orange – 1 pc.
  • Sour cream – 4 tbsp. l.
  • Butter – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Mustard beans – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Garlic – 4 cloves.
  • Oregano, pepper, thyme.
  • Salt.

Cooking process:

  1. Marinate the turkey fillet, first cutting it into portions. Marinating is as follows: rub the meat with a mixture of seasonings and salt, wrap it in a bag and place it in the refrigerator for one hour.
  2. Remove the zest from the orange using a grater - it will be used a little later. Squeeze the juice from the peeled fruit, mix it with vegetable oil, mustard and a small amount of spices.
  3. Remove the meat from the bag and pour the orange marinade over it for another half hour.
  4. After peeling and cutting into pieces garlic cloves, stuff the fillet. Butter should also be placed in parts inside the meat.
  5. Brush the turkey fillet on all sides with sour cream and sprinkle with orange zest.
  6. Carefully place the stuffed aromatic meat into the sleeve, secure the ends of the sleeve and bake the fillet in the oven for 40-50 minutes at a temperature of 190-200 degrees.

Festive turkey in the sleeve

In this recipe, the turkey is cooked into a roll and stuffed with pumpkin, apples and pumpkin seeds. You need to be prepared for the fact that the meat must be marinated for several hours. But it’s worth it: the roll turns out very beautiful and juicy, so it belongs on the holiday table.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 kg turkey fillet.
  • 2 apples.
  • 0.5 kg pumpkin.
  • 1 onion.
  • 60 g pumpkin seeds.
  • 20 g wine vinegar.
  • 50 ml each of vegetable oil and soy sauce.
  • 20 ml lemon juice.
  • Salt and seasonings to taste.

Cooking process:

  1. Flatten the turkey fillet on a cutting board, make small cuts in it, you can lightly beat it with a hammer.
  2. Mix soy sauce and lemon juice.
  3. Rub the fillet with salt and seasonings to your taste, and then coat well with a mixture of soy sauce and lemon juice. Place the meat in the refrigerator to marinate for several hours (at least 3).
  4. Prepare the filling for the roll: chop the onion finely and fry in a frying pan. Peel the apples and pumpkin and place them in the frying pan, too, chopped. Simmer under the lid until tender, and at the end add pumpkin seeds and wine vinegar. Cool the filling.
  5. Take out the fillet, arrange it in a layer and place the filling on top. Roll the meat into a tight roll and pin it with toothpicks to prevent it from falling apart.
  6. Carefully place the roll in a baking sleeve; you can grease the top with a little vegetable oil. Tie the ends of the sleeve and place the workpiece in the oven. The turkey roll is baked for 40-50 minutes at a temperature of 190-200 degrees.

Cut the finished roll into portions and serve with vegetables, rice or spicy sauce.

A quick way to bake with seasonings and ginger root

How to cook a sleeved turkey thigh in the oven so that it is soft, juicy and has great flavor? The task is not so difficult; even novice housewives can solve it.

Thanks to an interesting combination of meat and seasonings, the result is a very tasty, savory dish that will fit perfectly not only into the everyday menu, but will also diversify the holiday table quite well. To prepare it you will need the following products:

  • Chilled turkey thigh – 2 pcs. (large);
  • Ginger root – 50 g;
  • Garlic – 2 cloves;
  • Balsamic vinegar – 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • Seasoning mixture (ground pepper, marjoram, oregano, thyme);
  • Soy sauce – 4 tbsp. spoons;
  • Fresh parsley - 5-6 fluffy sprigs;
  • Fresh sage – 4 leaves;
  • Salt.


Rinse the poultry thighs thoroughly with cold water, then dry with paper towels.
If the pieces are too large, you can cut them in half. Peel the ginger root, then grate it on a fine grater.

Lift the skin, under it you need to put 2 sage leaves, 1 clove of chopped garlic, and add a little salt.

In a deep bowl, combine seasonings, soy sauce, vinegar, grated ginger root, and salt. Coat the thighs with the resulting marinade, then place in a baking bag.

Separate the parsley leaves from the branches and add them to the meat in a sleeve, the edges of which must subsequently be pinched with special clips. Place the bag with the preparation on a baking sheet or any baking dish.

The dish must be baked at a temperature of about 200C for 1 hour. 10 minutes before the end of heat treatment, open the sleeve so that the meat is covered with a golden, appetizing crust.

Boiled rice or mashed potatoes go very well as a side dish for turkey thighs baked in a sleeve in the oven according to this recipe with photo.
