Step-by-step recipe for cooking rice porridge in a slow cooker


Rice porridge is a delicious, nutritious and healthy breakfast for the whole family that will energize you for the whole day. Due to the content of complex carbohydrates, it provides a feeling of fullness for a long time. By preparing rice porridge in a slow cooker, you will get a dish that will appeal not only to rice lovers, but even to those who are indifferent to porridge. The main thing is that the cooking process will take place without the participation of the hostess. You won’t need to stand over the pan and make sure that the porridge doesn’t burn, run away, lumps don’t form in it, etc.

Classic milk rice porridge in a slow cooker

This porridge will be an excellent side dish or an independent dish. Ingredients: 1 multicooker glass of round cereal, 2 glasses of water and milk each, sugar, salt to taste, butter.

  1. The rice is thoroughly washed under the pressure of cold water. The cleaner it can be made, the tastier the finished dish will be. Next, the cereal is left in a colander to drain excess liquid.
  2. The prepared rice is poured into the pan first. It is filled with two mixed liquids. Salt and sugar the mixture to taste.

With dried apricots

To prepare porridge with dried apricots, take the following ingredients:

  • 300 g steamed rice;
  • 500 g pumpkin;
  • 100 g dried apricots;
  • 100 g raisins;

  • 30 g butter;
  • 3 tbsp. l. granulated sugar;
  • 1/2 tsp. table salt.

Rice porridge with pumpkin in water with dried apricots is prepared according to the following scheme:

  1. First of all, you can pour the rice into a deep container, fill it with cool water and leave for 30 minutes. The rice needs to be poured in to remove excess starch so that the finished porridge is lump-free.
  2. Then you need to rinse the dried apricots and raisins in cold water, pour them into a small container and soak in hot water for 10 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, prepare the pumpkin. To do this, you need to cut off the top, remove the insides with seeds and cut off the required amount. Now you can remove the peel with a sharp knife and cut the hard part of the pumpkin into cubes with a side of no more than 1 cm.
  4. Now you can drain the water from the dried fruits, dry them with a napkin and cut the dried apricots into straw. Rice should be poured into a sieve and washed in cool water.
  5. Afterwards, you need to pour the washed rice, raisins with chopped dried apricots into the slow cooker, add pumpkin cubes to them, add table salt and sugar and pour water over the ingredients. Now you need to mix the contents of the bowl and close the lid.
  6. Next you need to set the “Rice” program for 15 minutes. When the time is up, you can open the bowl, add a piece of butter, mix the ingredients again and divide the finished porridge into portions.

Cooking with water

This recipe is used to prepare a savory dish that goes especially well with any hot chicken dishes. Ingredients: 2 cups of rice cereal, 4 cups of filtered non-carbonated water, a pinch of salt, a bunch of fresh herbs.

  1. It is important to choose quality cereals. Initially, it is sifted using a sieve, then sorted by hand (to get rid of debris and low-quality grains) and finally washed with water. The dish consists of the following ingredients:

  • rice groats – 2 tbsp;
  • pumpkin – 200 g;
  • tomatoes – 2 pcs.;
  • carrots – 1 pc.;
  • hard cheese – 100 g;
  • water – 3-4 tbsp.;
  • butter – 30-50 g;
  • table salt – 1/2 tsp;
  • sunflower oil.

Step-by-step preparation scheme:

  1. First you need to remove any debris from the rice, wash it and dry it. Then you will need to pour boiling water over the tomatoes, remove the skins from them and chop them using a grater. The pumpkin must be washed, peeled and put into a meat grinder.

  3. Both types of sand are added to taste. Usually 2-2.5 large spoons of regular sugar and a pinch of vanilla sugar are enough.
  4. All that remains is to pour in a mixture of warm milk and water.
  5. In the “Porridge” mode, the dish is cooked for 40-45 minutes.

With cranberries

Ingredients included in the dish:

  • rice – 300 g;
  • pumpkin – 100 g;
  • cranberries – 100 g;
  • water – 150 ml;
  • apple – 2 pcs.;
  • granulated sugar – 3-4 tbsp. l.;
  • sunflower oil.

Step-by-step preparation scheme:

  1. The first thing you need to do is sort out the rice grains, rinse them, put them in a sieve, until the water is clear and wait until the water drains. Afterwards you will need to wash the apples, remove the peels and chop them into cubes.
  2. Then you should coat the bowl of the device with sunflower oil, start the “Stewing” program and cook them until softened. Afterwards, you need to pour the rice into the apples in a slow cooker, pour in warm water and cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Next, you need to wash and peel the pumpkin, cut into small cubes, pass them through a meat grinder, add to the bowl and mix well. Then you need to wash the cranberries and crush them in a mortar, adding granulated sugar in parts.
  4. Now you can add chopped pumpkin and crushed cranberries to the multicooker bowl, mix well, cover and cook for 25 minutes. Afterwards, add soft butter to the prepared porridge, stir and place into portioned bowls.

With added raisins

Dried fruits will also help add sweetness to the dish and at the same time keep it healthy. In general, any of them goes well with rice porridge. But in such a budget recipe it will be raisins that will be used. It will take half a glass. Other ingredients: 1 cup white rice of any form, 3 cups full-fat milk, 2 cups filtered water, sugar and salt to taste.

Rice porridge with pumpkin in water and onions is prepared as follows:

  1. First you need to remove the husk from the onion, wash it and chop it into cubes. Afterwards you will need to wash the carrots, peel them and grate them using a grater with a coarse grid.
  2. Next, you should grease the multicooker bowl with sunflower oil, place chopped onion and grated carrots in it, mix and fry for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously.
  3. Then you need to rid the rice of excess debris, rinse it several times until the water becomes clear, and boil the water in a kettle.

  4. Afterwards you need to wash the pumpkin, peel and cut into cubes.

  • water – 600 ml;
  • vanillin;
  • butter;
  • table salt;
  • granulated sugar.

Rice porridge with pumpkin in water with pear is prepared as follows:

  1. The first thing you need to do is sort through the rice, remove any debris and rinse in water several times until transparent. Afterwards you will need to wash the pumpkin, peel it, cut it into small pieces and grind it using a blender or meat grinder.
  2. Next, wash the apple and pear, peel and cut into medium-sized cubes. Then you need to pour hot water over the raisins and leave for 20-25 minutes.
  3. Then you need to mix the ingredients, put them in a multicooker bowl, pour water into them, add table salt, granulated sugar and mix well. The porridge will need to be cooked in the “Stew”, “Milk porridge/Porridge” mode for 35-40 minutes.

With cream

If the calories of each prepared dish are not counted, and there is no need to think about extra pounds, then you can easily afford to prepare the porridge under discussion using heavy cream. Ingredients: ½ cup of round grain cereal, a pinch of fine salt, 3 cups of full-fat milk and 1 cup of cream, granulated sugar to taste (you can use brown).

Today you can find a variety of models of “smart pans” on sale. But almost all of them are suitable for preparing rice porridge. Some devices have a special program called “Porridge” or “Milk Porridge”. It is most convenient to use them, simply setting the time recommended in the recipe. In these cases, there is no need to adjust the temperature.
