  • Grease the dough with cottage cheese and place cherries on top. Roll the dough into a roll and cut it into equal pieces seven centimeters thick.
  • Place baking parchment on a baking sheet and place the buns on it. Brush the pieces with beaten egg and sprinkle them with sugar.

Let's knead the dough; to do this, pour flour, yeast, sugar, salt into a bowl and mix.

Heat the milk to 40 degrees. Pour vegetable oil into the heated milk, mix and add the milk-butter mixture to the bowl with the flour and yeast mixture.

We begin to knead the dough first with a spoon. Then, when the dough begins to curl into a ball, continue kneading with your hands.

Knead the dough until smooth and homogeneous for 8-10 minutes. The consistency of the dough is dense, does not stick to your hands and holds its shape well. Cover the bowl with the dough with film and leave to proof for 1.5 hours.

While the dough is rising, prepare the streusel. To do this, mix cold butter with sugar, flour and vanilla.

Grind the butter with sugar, flour and vanilla together until crumbs are obtained. Our streusel is ready, put it in the refrigerator until we need it.

Next, prepare the cherry filling. Wash the cherries and remove the seeds; if you are using frozen cherries, then defrost the berries and drain the juice.

The risen dough will become light and airy and will increase in volume by at least 2 times.

Place the dough on the table and divide it into 2 equal parts, then divide each part into 9 pieces. As a result, we should have 18-20 pieces of dough.

Next, flatten each piece of dough into a flat cake, but not too much, so as not to knead the risen dough too much.

Place approximately 1 tablespoon of cherry filling in the middle of each flatbread.

Next, pinch the dough on top, forming bags (as in the photo).

Place the formed buns on a baking sheet, seam side down, keeping the distance between the buns so that they can fit freely and expand during baking.

Brush the prepared cherry buns with beaten egg and sprinkle with chilled streusel.

Leave the buns to proof for 20-30 minutes at room temperature, covered with a towel. Next, place the yeast buns with cherries in a preheated oven and bake at 180 degrees for approximately 35-40 minutes.

As they bake, the buns will smell wonderful, rise nicely, and expand in size.
